        Hi there my bunny kamdyn is disabled with cancer. Back in July he had fur mites was treated they came back soon after treatments were done. 3 weeks ago he had a messy bottom and urine scald which caused it to bleed. We went to the vet she gave him antibiotics and I cleaned the site everyday. I noticed last week that down in his area he had dandruff I thought maybe it would go away. He still has it today. My question is do fur mites nest in there private area? When he had the fur mites before he had them on the nape of his neck. I am scheduled to go to the vet on thursday. Thanks

            It’s a question for your vet since you’re seeing her this week.

            You might ask her if you could try a product called Bag Balm on the dry and scaly areas. It is used on dry skin, originally for cows and recommended for animals and humans (like soles of feet) for dried areas. It’s soothing, and not harmful usually if tasted by the animal but I’m not sure it’s OK for a sick bunny. (It’s a square tin of goo, which I was able to find at CVS in the body lotions aisle.)

            Let us have an update after you visit to the vet. {{{{{{{{Comfort and healing vibes to Kamdyn}}}}}}}

              I have heard of fur mites just locating on the nape of the neck I haven’t heard them locating down there. I guess they could. Can you give me any tips to stop them from coming back? thanks
