Hi, Guys. I read the other thread about faces/names, and from time to time we have a little thread running where members can get to know each other better. You asked if an FL would start one to lay some ground rules (hint hint) so thought I would do this here. If BB objects or wants to change some criteria, please just edit me BB or add to this to clarify.
First, quoted from the Rules:
- You must be at least 13 years of age to become a member.
- You must be 18 or older to post any photos of yourself. (posting photos of your rabbits, is of course, okay!)
- Members under 18 cannot use their first and last name in their DISPLAY name.
- We also suggest that even if you are over 18 that you never use your first and last name when creating a Display name. (Note: User name is what you login with and Display name is the name others see)
Next: RabbitPam's Cautions:
Do not state your address, city, street name or other clearly identifying info. that could lead to someone looking you up and finding you. If you are in Massachusetts, for example, The Berkshires, or MetroWest, or North Shore is close enough. If anyone wants to get more personal, use the Message Center and be cautions before allowing your info. out there either. This isn't a locked or screened membership, it is a free global internet, so be careful.
Don't link to websites of any kind, at least not in this thread. See the Rules for other info. about it.
Post photos, but check out the backgrounds in them so you don't have a street address showing for example. You'd be surprised. If your bunny is cute that's fine, but if your boyfriend is standing next to his prize antique auto parked in the driveway next to your house number, he might not want it here. Remember, it's the holidays, and people watch for announcements of going away on vacation, so don't let them find you.
Tell us what you do for a living if you like, or what you study in school, but again, don't say your employer's name or business. Especially if you don't like them! (Ever google a search for a name and this site comes up? Want your boss to read it? )
Posting pix: always post a photo that is smaller, and reduce it for comfort of scrolling through the thread. If you have to slide the bottom to read left to right, it's way too big. Right click after you've inserted the pix, and you will see a size option. I suggest 2" max for one dimension and the other will automatically adjust.
On your mark, get set, GO!

I'm 54, she's 3. We live in South Florida. I have a background in the arts, primarily visual with a love of illustration art, writing, and photography. I like graphic design, curating, and shopping! I want world peace. (Sorry - channeling a beauty queen - I'm psychic.)
Devoted to my family yet still single. Currently job hunting, so I enjoy a life of leisure and constant anxiety like 13 million other Americans this year who know the economic recovery isn't even close to happening yet. I am very blessed by friends and family, and I count my gang here on BB among them. You guys are the best, give me an outlet for my writing and creativity, and make me feel needed. Thanks! |

^First birthday pic!
I live in Washington state, born in Hawaii. I'm 24. I have a boyfriend that I've been dating since 2004. I don't have an intention to be married anytime soon. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, playing video games (I love RPG, old school stuff, I'm currently addicted to Call of Duty MW3), hanging out with my bratty bun, working out, and sleeping. I have 2 tattoos - one on my ankle, and one on my upper back. The ankle tattoo is an honor to my mom, and the back one is for inspiration to get through hard times.
In March, I'll be starting school for Medical Assisting at a local community college. My mother's passing has helped me realize what I want to do in life. We'll see what the future brings after I get into the health field.
My dad and I live together, along with little Chacha bun. She lives a life of a spoiled queen. She even has a purple stocking that says "NAUGHTY" and a little couch that she loves to sleep on. She has her grandpa wrapped around her wittle paw . She is on a strict feeding schedule and dislikes when I work past 9 pm... ex: pinned back ears, thumping. Chacha is my everything - when I get home from work, she is the one that I have to tend to. I forget about work, which is a good thing |

Hey everyone! I was born in Taiwan and briefly lived in another state in between, but grew up in Texas and still haven't left. I'm 22 and currently studying my way through medical school - not entirely sure what field I want to pursue, but the standouts right now are either cardiology or emergency medicine, though neither are anywhere near definite yet.
Bunnies first thumped their way into my life in 2008 when my family kind of impulse-purchased Tammo at a pet store (heh) but we quickly realized how amazing these little brats are. Ever since I moved for school I haven't lived with any bunnies, though I'm constantly debating whether or not to make a trip over to the local rescue and pick up a little buddy to keep me company.
When I'm not holed up studying, I love making music! I've played piano and violin for years, and picked up guitar during high school though I'm not particularly good at it. I'm in a band here with a few of my fellow medical school students, and though we play a lot of covers, we've started to write our own music and we're planning to play a original show sometime early next year at a local bar/venue…I can't wait!
In lieu of pictures of myself, I present to you my silly fuzzy babies:
Tammobunny:

My silly Peppy pig:

I'm Sage. I live in Wisconsin and I just turned 18 this year. I live with my mom and sister but my grandparents are really involved with my life. My sister and I are very close, we joke around that we should be twins because we are so similar (even laugh exactly the same) and lots of people ask us if we're twins. I'm in my junior year of high school but will be graduating early next year. I really want to go into the medical or science field. I do gymnastics and horseback riding (English hunter/jumper). I have two rabbits, Wilbur and Totoro (I don't have any pictures with Totoro yet). This summer I'm going on a school trip to Japan for a month (and after that NZ with my grandpa), I'm really excited and scared.
I go to an IB college prep school and my mom has been sick for as long as I can remember so my life is pretty busy right now and the bunnies help get me through everything. They are a big de-stressor. I have a boyfriend that I've been dating for a couple years but like LoveChacha I'm not planning on getting married anytime soon. My dreams for the future are to move to a farm in Washington, be a doctor, and open up a stable with my sister (so realistic ). |

Hi, I'm Casey. My avatar is of me and Huckleberry. I live in Oklahoma and am going to college for a Bachelors in Fine Arts (Studio Arts) and an Alternative Certification for Education. I live with my wonderful boyfriend. We have been together for 2 1/2 years. He just started school this semester for Engineering. We are both 26. We both had a late start on our education and had some bumps along the way but now we are helping each other get through it. Huckleberry came into our lives almost 2 years ago when we went to a tractor supply store and found some baby rabbits for sale. We talked about for a while and then returned and picked out the bully bun that was perched atop a cinder block boxing at any bun that tried to join her. She was dirty and tiny and a brat but we fell in love with her. Right now, I have two jobs, one in retail and the other at a library on campus. I love that second job!!! I spend my days helping students learn how to use a mac, how to use photoshop, organizing the library and operating a large scale commercial printer. I love photography, painting, and working with clay. Next semester will be very exciting because I will be taking printmaking and ceramics! I am very excited to learn how to use a pottery wheel!

Hi everyone! I'm Emily. This is me with my llama friend at vet school (actually that's a lie...llamas usually don't want to be friends with you; but that's another story!)

I'm 22, and am a 1st year vet student at the Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Right now my focus is on equine medicine/surgery, but I honestly love working with all animals, so we'll see what happens. I am usually studying or in class, so I don't have much free time, but I enjoy horseback riding, reading, and anything outdoors.
I got Hazel on a whim off of Craigslist one day, after I decided I couldn't live without something furry and snuggly running around my apartment (no pets though...SHHHHHH!). Hazel came from a show background, and had already had a litter before I got her. However, now she's spayed and runs free range 24/7 in my apartment. She has an amazing personality, and is so social! Getting her was the best decision, and I couldn't be happier. I also love being a member of BinkyBunny- I have learned so much about rabbits, and I love contributing, discussing, and meeting all of the other slaves |

Hi BB-ers!! I am Carly. I am a student in the state of Arizona studying animal science and pursuing a career with the USDA/FSIS (Food Safety and Inspection Services). I will be the one who surveys processing plants that are federally inspected to make sure everything is up to code and standards. I have MANY animals... 3 Frenchies (Onion, Pearl, Mabel) a Great Dane (Tivoli), a Lab/Collie (Booter), a Shepherd/Cattledog (Sydney), and a Boston Terrier (Zeena). I also have a Bronze Wing Pionus parrot named Claude Monet, a Maine Coon/Ragdoll named Jinxi, a Maine Coon mix named Mala, and an Arabian horse named Fanci.... and of course, my New Zealand White rabbit Tipsy.
I have been riding horses since I was 4 years old and I am now 22. I have given lessons to lessor privilaged children from a nonprofit organization and shown Arabians. Not only do I plan on working for the FSIS, but I want to also raise Norwegian Fjord ponies and use some in a rehabilitation program geared towards mentally and physically disabled war veterans.
For years I have always wanted a rabbit and just have dreamed of having one but my dad would always say, No they are smelly. Then low and behold here come cute little Tipsy. Tipsy is my first bunny and I adopted her from my university lab. She is such a sweetheart and has really taught me a lot. I am glad that I have the BB here to help me! I first came here looking at information when I just got her and wanted to make sure that I was doing everything right and everyone was gracious enough to give me such great advice! Now with all the knowledge I have, and I just keep learning, I feel like I can be one of those to help other new comers here on BB!!!
BTW, my dream bunny is a Flemish Giant!!! One day.....
I also have a blog on blogspot called Bewhiskered Bunny!! Check it out!!
This was an owl I helped train.... oh yeah, I am a falconer as well.

Hey everybody. I'm Beth and I have two rabbits Penelope and Thumper. I wasn't born here, but I've lived basically my whole life here in Louisville, KY. I'm 19 but soon to be 20 on January 6 I plan on going to Murray next semester to become a vet tech. I still live with my mom and along with the two rabbits we also have five cats. I'm adopted. I love to read, although I don't get to do it as much as I used to. I also like to play video games - I'm just not very good . What else, ummm, I'm single. I've almost given up hope in ever finding anyone. I have no life and I'm one of the lamest people you'll probably ever meet and I'm totally ok with that!

Well, now that I feel like I just filled out an eHarmony profile - I guess that's it! |

Thanks for starting this, Pam! I love learning more about everyone on BB.
Here's a recent pic of me - not easy to find because I usually don't like having my picture taken Of course, I'm engaging in one of my favorite activities - beer and wine tasting.

My name is Laura and I'm 27. I grew up in Pittsburgh but now live in New York (not the city, though close enough to visit once in a while) with my husband and two bunnies, Otto and Hannah. I have a degree in chemical engineering and work at a company that manufactures computer and video game chips (DH works there too which is pretty fun and we have a great group of friends who also work there). I enjoy reading, cooking, playing with the bunnies, and I used to ride horses every week (yay for so many horse back riders!) I don't really have the extra money for it right now since we just bought a house, but once we settle in a bit more I'd like to start lessons again. I used to ride jumpers, but the older I get the less courage I have and I think I might like to try dressage or polo (I played a little polo in college and loved it). I love dogs and I'm so excited to be getting a dog in the next year - feels like I've been waiting forever!
Our house has a decent amount of land and I'm really looking forward to planting a garden next year and working my way up to chickens and sheep (haven't convinced DH on the sheep yet, but I'm working on it!)

My name is Crystal and I live in Northern British Columbia, so I'm one of the few Canadian members here I'm 21, and about to start my final pre-req for an Animal Health Techonology program. I was going to apply to start fall 2012, but I have decided to take a year and work full-time. I don't want to be saddled with student loans when I won't make much as a vet tech, especially if I decide to stay & work in BC I have dabled quite a bit in different education fields, but I finally realised I can't get away from the animals . I have been working in a veterinary clinic, part-time, for about a year and a half now. I don't really have a set position there, I do a bit of everything (walking, cleaning, reception, pharmacy, treatments, assisting, etc.). They can't offer me full-time at the moment, so I am actually applying for a casual position at the SPCA this week! wish me luck!
I'm a bit of a volunteering nut . I spent last summer living and working at a Turtle Conservation Camp on the west coast of Mexico. It was the most amazing experience of my life and I miss my turtle friends like crazy! As well as the wonderful people I met from around the world. As part of this I did some work with a crocodile conservation program. I have held too many crocodiles to count, from babies up to 5 years old. There was no running water at camp, so everyone bathed at the lagoon down the road (all biogradable, organic, etc. products). This lagoon also happened to be the crocodile lagoon So I can officially say I have swam with wild crocodiles. Locally I volunteer at an amazing equine rescue. I love the work I do there and I have never owned my own horse, so they are my surrogate babies We take in between 40-50 horses/other farm animals a year. I'm also a volunteer/foster parent for the SPCA. I always end up with orphaned kitten litters if the staff can't take them because there are only a couple of us able to deal with them that young, in town. So far this year I have taken in 17 foster animals! It's kind of crazy to think about.
I have 2 dogs, a senior kitty, and now 2 rabbits of my own!

Hi all. My name is Regina. I am a very "serious" person when you first get to know me, but the pic above is how I really am. I'm sarcastic, funny, clumsy as can be, and my coworkers say I need to learn how to walk lol. I am very shy at times too.
I'm 26 and was born and raised in San Francisco. I live further south now with my boyfriend of four years. We are planning to get engaged in spring 2012 (hopefully).
I am a Performance Manager in Logistics at a large retail/eCommerce company. I'm pretty much a workaholic since my job is quite demanding, especially during holiday. I have an English degree and was in techincal writing for 8 months but it wasn't for me. Ideally, I'd love to be an interior designer or detective. I love watching real life mysteries on TV like "Dark Heart, Iron First" and etc.
I love baseball (Giants), shopping, and sushi.
In my free time, I read, play with my bumbas, hang out with my family (cousins are like my best friends), and mentor a 10 year old child.
Here are pics of my babies - Cheddar (orange), Poopy (broken blue), and Meatball (tort). I had no idea how much joy bunnies could bring and am so happy that I have them. They are my loves.

Ok my turn. My name is Amanda. I am 26, married and living in Michigan nearish the Detroit area. I love animals, and I love working with them and training them. Especially my dog Zeke. My husband is Joe and we have been together since Aug. 2005 and married since June 2008.
Me on Vacation in Fall of 09

Playing with an itty bitty red bellied snake on our honeymoon in 2008.

Most of you probably already know pleanty about my mischevious little bun Momo. But here is a shot of us together when I got her at 3 months almost one year ago!

Here is our baby boy Zeke, a boxer/lab mix shortly after we got him, trying out his new bed. He is around 2 in this pic, and he is going on 5 years now.

And here is a pic someone else took of him running. All 4 feet off the ground!

We also have 5 cats, all rescues. Here is a pic of them all eating. They are (from left to right) Sissy, Sonic, Sakura, Seven, Smudge, and Sassy. This is an old pic, that hideous wall was stripped and repainted some time ago. Also, Sonic crossed the Rainbow Bridge back in March at 17 1/2. My husband had that cat since he was a kid. But this is a good pic that shows the whole lot having canned food, which is an occassional treat.

I also own reptiles, currently 3 leopard geckos and 1 crested gecko, as well as a ball python. But if I got to posting pics of my scaley friends we would be here all night. |

Regina/Cheddar33 --- in the last photo of Cheddar, he looks very disapproving while he eats hahaha... he disapproves of see-food!
Crystal/Malp_15 --- I love the picture of Nate on the air vent... sometimes when it gets warm in my apartment, Tipsy will lay right at the bottom crack of the door where it lets all of the brisk air in. Buns are too cute! |

I'm Stephanie . I'm 29 and from New Brunswick. I'm a huge animal lover and live with my husband, 3 bunnies (my boys, Stormy and Bindi Loo and my little Princess, Olivia), 3 cats (Mystee, Savana and Andy). I have a horse named Winnie. Most of my spare time is spent taking care of my animals or doing one of my crafty hobbies. I've been a member of BB for quite a few years now. From 2008 with Brambles

Roger and Vicky
My name is Charles, I'm 26 and I live in Fairfax County in Northern VA. I've been living in the DC metro area for the past 9 years. I graduated in 2007 with a political science and Spanish degree but I am currently working as an IT Manager at a nearby university where I was just accepted into the Master’s program for software engineering. My fiancé and I are rabbit fanatics. We currently have two buns but we fostered 2 others for a year each. Vicky and Roger are both Dutch buns and are both about 4 years old (we have had them for the past 3 years). I am into politics (libertarian), philosophy (objectivism), PC games (DotA, RTS, MMORPG), movies, and music (Metal, hardcore, ska, rockabilly, psychobilly, nerdcore). I play rugby in the Mid Atlantic Rugby Football Union and I want to take swing dance lessons starting in January! I am one of the few men on this message board and I love binky bunny message board and rabbit products!

Hiya~!
My name is Kelsey, and I live in Northern California. I'm 20 years old and currently trying to get a degree as a Veterinary Technician. I volunteer at SaveABunny when I can and I take care of a lot of animals! Haah ha. I love animals more than myself and will put them before my comfort. I am constantly on PETA trying to find ways I can help, becoming vegetarian, writing letters, ect. Helping animals has become so easy thanks to PETA's new app! So, I feel good knowing I'm doing my part. : )
Besides loving animals, I also love music, drawing, traveling, making plush dolls, cooking, and the victorian era.
I came to own a rabbit thanks to my husband last year. I lost my precious Rat Cupcake, she fell in a sewer and never came back. I've lost many close family members including my brother in death but I never have cried so hard. My husband went and got me a rabbit because he calls me, "Hunny Bunny" and thought it would be a thoughtful and cute gesture. I knew nothing about rabbits and only wanted Rats at that time so I returned her. Later on, I became infatuated with rabbits and now I have my Ralphy!
My dream is to someday own a house with a large acre of land and have a Cow, some Chickens, Bunnies, Cats, Rats, and maybe...MAYBE a dog. |

You know what this message board makes me think?? "Hi, my name is ... and I am bunny crazy, I have been for many years now and just cant help myself." I am proud of you Charles for embracing your bunnies and being a man about it hahahaha. My boyfriend is still working on it, he does admit though that he really wants a lop, and he will dangle toys for my bun to play with for a while, but I just dont think he is ready to admit he is a bunny dad. I did convince a fraternity to get a house rabbit instead of a house hound though haha, imagine that, a whole house full of bunny dads. |

Bunny dude!! Yessssss.
Hello! I'm Angie, I'm 24 and I live in Northern California. This is me and my awesome boyfriend of 3 1/2 years:

aaaaand this is me with my two favorite furballs in the world:

btw, it took me forever to get a picture with the two of them.
my boyfriend's niece originally had Rorschach and Nikka as an easter gift, but she got bored with them quickly and neglected them. After months of me chiding Paul, he finally handed them over to me. I've had them for almost two years now and as crazy as they are, I love them to death. As some of you may know, Rorschach is currently in the hospital with a liver infection, but I spoke to the vet today and she said he's looking much better and will be able to come home tonight! Nikka seems super lonely without him, and I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders knowing that he's going to be okay.
As for myself, I love food. My parents used to be chefs and have taught me their awesome ways, and basically all I do and think about is food. It doesn't help that the Bay Area has every kind of cuisine you could think of I also enjoy dance, tried a bunch of styles but my main love is hip hop. I can't survive without music (again, I listen to everything. It's pretty amusing when my iTunes is on shuffle). I've been working since I was 14, starting at my parent's diner/bakery business. I'm still there half of my week, and the other half of my week I'm at a non-profit as the outreach coordinator, which means I oversee all the volunteer projects. I graduated with a B.S in Asian American Studies, am heavily involved with politics (but I keep that kind of talk outside of the BB forums ). I'm going for a master's in Public Policy in the next year or so, as soon as I get more experience in with my non profit and save up some money for tuition. Eventually I would like my own office in Sacramento.
I'm not much of a girly girl, most of my friends are guys, I enjoy hiking, travelling, video games, will watch sports but can't play them haha. I wouldn't call myself a health nut, but I'm definitely conscious of what I eat. I don't worry so much about fat and calories, but I try to eat as natural as I can so there aren't a bunch of chemicals rolling around inside my intestines haha. so that's meeee! |
