So my rabbit has become a holy terror and is driving me insane!  She wants to rip everything to pieces!  Bags, boots, buckets, tubs, litterboxes, sweatshirts, binders, everything!  Does it have to do with her reaching sexual maturity?  Will she calm down when after she is spayed?

Bhahaha sorry, I’ve gone through something similar. Yes, it could be that. She’ll calm done after her spay (it’s not a guarantee though but it is very likely). The best thing you can do for now is provide lots of safe things for her to destroy.

I am so glad that it may be just the hormones. I really dont know what I would do if she would be like this for the rest of her life! She just started acting like this this morning and I have to keep every little thing off the ground and jumping distance!

Hahahha yeah I know how you feel. Though for the rest of her life it would be a good idea to keep things off the ground, my bunnies aren’t crazy about destroying things but they might if I left something laying on the floor.

normally she is pretty preoccupied with her toys and doesnt pay attention to my boots, but my poor boots got a nibble I am going to need a shoe rack now, oh boy.

spaying and maturing mentally will make a big difference. try to offer her alternatives that are OK to destroy like willow mats, baskets or phone books.

Yep, going through that adolescent stage is rough! They like to get into everything.

Been there. Mine drove me nuts, especially the couple weeks leading up to her spay where it was the worst. I was counting down the days. LOL then I was terrified to let her go and on pins and needles until I had her home. She still had her moments after the spay, but calmed down over time. Now that she is a year old, she is not nearly as naughty.

My little turds, uh angels, are just naughty all the time. I suppose it isn’t as bad now though.

LOL at LBJ10… I have to agree with you! I was just going to post that a spay is not going to fix everything! My Lola is still very mischievous and likes to challenge any type of flooring ideas that I have.. D: so be ready!

For the months that I had her she has never been like this and, like I said, just recently she started humping her stuffed animal rabbit , circling me, and just now destroying things. Luckily I am heading home as my semester is over and she is getting her spay as soon as she hits home turf! She has always been a little mischievous, but never to this extent.

The problem with her also is that she isnt so much a rip and tear as much an eater… whatever she can get her teeth on she eats! So I have to keep an eye on things like toilet paper rolls and cardboard pieces things that any normal bunny owner would have laying around ready to be destroyed, but cant for too long or else she will eat them too quickly. So I am too afraid to give her a phone book in fear that she might get way too excited and eat pages from it.
