Ralphy is still sneezing here and there and I noticed today he still has that yucky yellow stuff on his nose. I called the vet to make an appointment for a culture. It is expensive! Around $300. Will it really pinpoint what he has? What is the next type of medicine they will give him? Will it even work? I don’t want him to die!

The culture will tell them what bacteria he is infected with and then they will know what to treat with better, yes. When I had Stickers in for her sneezing my vet said there were a few antibiotics and even a steroid treatment for them for different bacterias, but he starts with Baytril to see if it will clear up without a culture, I am guessing your vet follows similar guidelines for treatment.

Yes, what Sticker said. It will most likely pinpoint if there is any bacteria. It cannot pinpoint if it is allergies however.

Medication depends on what the culture shows the bacteria to be.
