did i just get groomed?!

  whenever i scratch my 10 week old mini lop, he chatters his teeth and i read this means he likes it and is content. i just got him 3 days ago and he is doing GREAT. he always comes over to my hand to be pet (hates being held, loves being petted!) and does binky kicks and bunny sprints all over the room when i let him out to play . he is such a happy little boy and i love him to death! anyways, so he rarely stops while he’s out of his cage playing, but he stoped to try and nibble on a blanket i laid down (i have hardwood floors and he likes skidding around on those and then run to where i’m sitting on the blanket and play) and i started to pet him and what he does is lean his head on my hand so i’ll pet him his favorite way (i cup his face in my hand and scratch his ears and cheeks! weird i know!) and he chattered his teeth as usual. then after he started licking my hand!!! and then he started to lick my pants and everything? did i just get groomed by my bunny?! he just came over while i was typing this and put his front paws on my leg and started to lick my pants again! can someone tell me what this means? thanks!

  Sounds like a grooming! Just don’t be too discouraged if when he goes through puberty he stops doing it– baby bunnies tend to be the most affectionate. However, if he stops, he may also start up again after being neutered. : ) My mom’s bunny was like that– he was very groomy as a little bun, then turned grumpy for a while, and then after being neutered got affectionate again and now will even groom strangers (he’s a little dumb, to tell the truth, but adorable.) One of my bunnies was adopted as an adult and it took about a year before he would groom me (he will also only groom faces– particularly eyes!!!), so don’t give up hope if he stops. Bunny grooming is lovely! Congrats!

  Yep! Rabbits will indirectly groom you (via clothes, items that smell like you) and it means that they LOVE you
  
  My 2 year old bun grooms me and my boyfriend on the face all the time
