Our new bun Joseph has not been eating the coriander in his daily meals for about a week now.

Nothing has changed in terms of what we have been feeding him on a daily basis (Hay, oxbow pellets, parsley, coriander, mint & cos lettuce + small treats). We normally mix all the greens together so its easy to dish out during the week, so they get a ‘salad’. I’ve noticed Jo eats everything EXCEPT for the coriander and it remains in his food dish all day until we clean it out.

Wondering what could be the cause of this? Is he just being picky now, or could it mean something else?

maybe it is from somewhere else and it tastes different to him?

As long as he’s eating everything else, he is probably fine. Maybe he’s tired of it or it’s not super fresh. Stop giving it for a few days and then see if he eats it again.

I know with Lolli, if her lettuce somehow seems off to HER, she won’t eat it all either. Just picks and chooses. And when Eddie was alive, if the lettuce wasn’t perfectly fresh, I got looks. lol

When I first got my rabbits I learned they lived on cheap pellets and old celery. It was years before they decided to eat celery again. Maybe he’s just sick of it?

They’re picky. He probably doesn’t like it anymore. If coriander tastes like cilantro I can’t blame him – I can’t stand the stuff. Some bunnies (and people) here love it, but it truly is a matter of taste. He may like it again someday, but it’s not an indication of a problem. He is welcome at my table anytime. We’re serving Romaine lettuce this evening.
