So does anyone know if yesterday’s news makes their buns paws (the fur) green?

My little guys paws (well fur on the paws) are usually white and they’ve been green for past couple days and I don’t think its hurting him so I’m not going to wash him or anything traumatizing like that. But I’m curious if yesterday’s news is the culprit or what.

Hmm yeah I use Yesterday’s News and have noticed that sometimes my bunnies’ feet have this light grey twinge to them. I remember another member on here a while ago saying it was not as absorbent as some of the other litters out there. If your bunny’s feet were yellow then it would be something to worry about because that would be urine. He could have also gotten it from having his feet wet and being on hay?

Hmm never thought about hay. He did toss that all around cage and play area this weekend.. But I left it because he was still eating it and buns will be buns. But I can’t imagine his feet getting wet from water bottle because its an upright one. Maybe from the veggies? I always water them done before I give them to give him extra water and be double safe. I might be examining his litter today though. I wouldn’t want him to be getting wet feet from being good and using his “potty” lol it took a while to get him there. thanks for suggestions

Sophie gets green face and paws after eating…sometimes it’s lasts longer than others, I also wet down theirs veggies I think it’s just the way she eats.

Probably hay or wet lettuce-or wet hay! Totally fine though

I’ve only seen green from veggies, but some bunnies can get very green from their salads. That’s my guess.

I got curious so did a search of posts, and found this cute little guy who turned green back in 2010. Thought you’d enjoy the pix and knowing you are not alone.

Now where did that pix of Pinkie’s green lips go?

Haha, Thumper gets a orange chin from his carrot sometimes. The first time it happened I thought he had a sore or something! He actually ended up giving me a ‘warning bite’ because I wouldn’t stop prodding around in his chin area lol

Typically green paws are caused by hay – I’ve only noticed a slight grey color from the yesterday’s news.

I also find that different bunnies pick up color differently. My girl often has greenish feet, but my boy’s are always pure white, so some might just groom themselves better than others. Nothing to worry about.

haha that green and white bunny is hilarious and cute. I think mine is either hay or litter because its a very dull green and not bright. I remember one of our guinea pigs we had when I was child loved strawberries and whenever we have her one she had a nice red chin afterwards. haha. Bun grooms all the time so it’ll probably fade. It adds an interesting new mix to his harlequin pattern though
