So… my shipment (all 45 lbs of it) of KMS 2nd cut timothy hay came yesterday.  It’s gorgeous stuff–nice green color, slightly softer than first cut hay but still “crispy” enough, fairly dust free.  I haven’t seen any seed heads (which my bunnies love) to speak of.

Of course, my bunnies seem very “meh” about the 2nd cut timothy hay, even though it looks to be great stuff.  They dive right in when I bring out the 1st cut, coarser, thicker stemmed hay, but sort of nibble at the 2nd cut timothy hay.

I’ll give it a bit longer, but if they still aren’t that into it by next week, the shelter (or a rabbit rescue) will be getting some really nice hay.

They are probably getting used to the different texture of the hay. My bunnies love teh 1st cut timothy/orchard hay from the hay barn!!
