they aren’t even that active in the morning, afternoon, dusk, or the evening! they sleep under the table all day. my bunnies are only 7 months old… why are they soo unactive? they only go crazy when its feeding time such as pellets or veggies. other wise they just sleep… after they eat they go to sleep. my bunnies are sumtime soo lazy to move that they pee under the table in the living room instead of the litterbox in the hallway!! how do i make my bunnies be more active?!?!?!?!

I think you can’t *make* them do anything they really don’t want to do. Maybe your buns just enjoy hanging out and relaxing? Maybe they’re more active when you aren’t around? Maybe you could move their litterbox closer to where they spend most of their time to encourage them to go there more. Sorry if I can’t be much help but I know that a LOT of bunnies are active at random times in the night.

You could get them one or two or three Tunnel Haven at the BB Store – according to the video on the BB.com homepage, bunnies love to run through the tunnels. Did you watch the video? My bunnies eat, poop, sleep, eat, poop, sleep…What else have they got to do? lol As long as they have enough room to get exercise, they’ll tire themselves out and then flop and sleep. I think once they’ve grown accustomed to their surroundings, they choose to lounge and sleep most of the time, it’s normal for them.

thanks kashkay! maybe that can be their birthday present! also i think that my bunnies are really used to owning the whole house.. now they are being lazy as heck! do you think i should limit their space so they get excited to get more room later?

I had a lazy bun who didn’t enjoy doing much. :/ She was a dutch. Nava who is a dwarf/dutch is pretty crazy and active but only in the middle of the night when I’m asleep. I know some breeds tend to be more active (like dwarfs) more then other breeds, but much like dogs every animals no matter the breed or species are individuals. Maybe your baby buns are just lazy?

Babies do tend to be more active then adults, but Babies also sleep more then adults too you know. Many baby animals are crazies but they need a lot of napping as well to grow up healthy.

I adhere to the motto: Don’t mess with success. If you try and limit them now in their space, they may try to chew the bars or become despondent that their freedom is being taken away. Sleeping bunnies are cute. I’d say just enjoy them that way and be glad they go crazy at chow time because it means they’re healthy and at least, sometimes active. But, I think the BB tunnel as a birthday present is a great idea! I hope their birthday isn’t too far away, but if it is, ‘There’s no time like the present!” hint hint lol

My dwarf is the opposite of the typical dwarf stereotype: She is lazy all day, lounges at night, sometimes runs. She is pretty lazy overall, bwahah.

after rabbits become adults, they may slow down and nap more.

Re: the tunnels, for another idea, I went to the Home Depot yesterday about bought a cardboard cement form (8in diameter, 48in long) for 6 bucks and the buns love it I also have a mini-haven from here, which I flipped upside down so the now bottom has a floor, and then stuffed with a variety of hay, oat, orchard, timothy and botanical mix, added a few craisins and alfalfa pellets, and they really love that too. Samson usually hangs out for about an hour and then disappears under my bed all day, comes back out at night for an hour to play and then goes into her pen to play for the night, Lady’s pretty active all the time, I don’t think she knows when she’s supposed to sleep.
