Jersey is having a stasis episode. It’s been a while since it’s been one like this.  I know it’s partly because it early hours of the morning and I’m stressed but I feel like I’m not gauging things that well.

Her ears feel fairly normal temp so I don’t think she’s shocky.  Every thing just feels different from the other times.  She’ll be going to the vet no question. I wont be able to see her vet as it’s Sunday. So it’s either pot luck at the 24hr clinic or going to one I took Rumball to one time. I think that’s best since I’ve at least seen that vet before.  But it’s 6 hrs til they open.     Ugh, I hate this.

Thank you. I’m going to give her some more simethicone, hold her and some gentle massage. I don’t know if it’s helping but I may as well try. She just worries me so much, that girl.

I think it’s been several hours since you posted (hard to tell time zones between us) so I am wondering if you’ve gotten her in by now and how she’s doing.

I have to post and run but just wanted let you know I think we’re past the scary stuff. There doesn’t seem to be a blockage so I can keep up the fluids. She’s did pass some pitifully small poop early this morning so I knew at least something was coming thru.

Jersey ate some greens pretty much as soon as we got home. She’s being selective about them and even trying to eat hay. That is highly unusual for her! She knows she needs the fibre I think.

She had Reglan, SubQ’s and an anti-inflammatory. I actually think the anti-inflam is what has helped most so far. Are they quick acting? She had rimadyl. That might be a clue in to why she has these slow downs. The vet suggested a back xray might be worthwhile.

Vet was great. She was American actually. She spent lot of time talking about things with me and had some good suggestions about how to manage things with Jersey in case this keeps recurring. Nurse also great, from the UK and had just lost her little rabbit that was living with her parents. So nice to talk with someone who obviously loved rabbits.

I think she’s going to be ok. I was just getting nervous last night and not knowing if I was making the right decisions or not. Kafrn, thanks so much for checking in with me and Jersey, especially with what when you’re going thru. Thank you all! You keep me calm. <3

I’m so glad Jersey seems to be doing okay! Stasis is so scary. Smart girl going for her fibre <3

Just checking in, hoping Jersey is continuing to improve. Stressing is no fun to be sure, but I’d rather do that and be wrong about them being sick than take the chance. (nods)
So glad to hear she got the treatment she needed and is doing well. Interesting about the rimadyl, my vet usually begins with metacam and injectible buprenorphine. To each his own I suppose. As long as the job gets done.

Sounds like you have a good vet and crew there. How’s she feeling today?

                                                  Thank you. : )
Jersey seems recovered though my gut feeling is she’s not quite 100%. She’s eating/toileting regular enough, I just feel she’s not entirely comfortable.

I’ll be able to talk to my own vet soon as the rabbits are to have their calici immunisation. I’m tentative about getting that done because last years jabs caused J&R to be low-key for a 24hrs and lowered their appetites. So I want more time for her gut to stabilise beforehand.

I’ll ask about possibility of any skeletal issues that might impact on her gut.
