Our own little Stu-Bob, Kafrn's little girl, passed earlier today. I know Kafrn hasn't posted yet, but I also know we all adored little Stu.
Stu passed at the vet today during an emergency surgery. Poor little lady has had a hard time this past while, and finally her pain is gone now.
Binky Free little Stu. We'll all miss you.

I'm so sad to hear this as well. I know Kafrn took such good care of little Stu and hoped she would get better. |

She fought hard through all her infections and stuff. She was definitely fighting and holding on for you, Katharine. I'm heartbroken. Binky free, Stu-Bob. My thoughts are with you and the whole bunny bunch! |

Thank you so much everyone. Its been a hard couple of days... As you know Stu has been battling a bone abscess in her cheek for some time now. She has also had very bad allergic reactions to antibiotocs. She has been doing much better lately... On Thursday Jerseygirl and I went to a new vet here in SA who is an expert in rabbit science and dental. We talked about the operations that she was to have in 8 weeks that would prolong her life with us, and continue to give her quality of life also. We were feeling very positive about the whole operation, it has been a long time coming and we were finally ready to go through with it! I was so excited, it was a real high and we could see light at the end of the tunnel. Stu stayed at work with me for the day. That night I picked up Stu-Bob to take her home and she was covered in blood. She was sitting in a puddle of it. I turned her over and her bottom area was badly swollen, and bleeding heavily. We raced her to the emergency vet who said that she suspected a tumour and that they could stabilize her on pain relief etc until the morning when my usual vet opened. They squeezed our several clots of blood that were as big as my thumb. It was huge for such a small bunny. The following morning Stu was still Bleeding heavily and just wasnt herself. We raced her to our vet, and they started to operate, only to find that her tumour was too far developed and in a spot that was inoperable and they lost her on the table. She was having complications with the anasthetic as well. I still havent come to terms that she isnt in her home anymore. Everything is a daze. I buried her this morning under the spot where the new rabbit house is about to be built for the rescue bunnies. Her girlfriend Maian is blind and is really lost without Stu-Bob, but I let her say goodbye to her this morning so that Maian might understand and have some closure. Thank you so much for your kind words and support everyone. It means so much to me, I have been on BB since the day that we got Stu-Bob, and you guys have come to know her so well, and have helped her so much. Thank you so much everyone. |

Awh that made me cry . It is so obvious that you loved her very much and did the best to take to care of her. She was so lucky to have you fighting for her to live. It never really gets easy but it gets better. I understand what you mean when you said you haven't come to terms, I still have moments when I realize my bunny is really gone but then I remind myself that it was out of my hands and I did all I could do (like you did). |

http://s862.photobucket.com/albums/...StuBob.mp4 I found this on the internet this morning, I forgot that I had taken it. Its really hard to watch now. I buried her in her purple blanket. She loved that blanket. it went everywhere with her. |

I agree with K&K, she surely knows how you cared for her, the sweet little bub. We'll all miss her. I started a candle group. Just look for 'Stu'. http://www.gratefulness.org/candles...d=14559191 Words cannot express my sympathies. Hang onto those good memories. The pix & vid are adorable! |

K&K, Monkeybun posted the pictures. Thanks MB, they are beautiful pics of Stu. I feel very fortunate to have met this little bun. She certainly did have a fighting spirit and spirit in general! <3 It's been a tough time for Kafrn but she's a trooper just like Stu. We learnt pretty fast that there was a lot more going on with this little bun then anyone was aware of. She went off peacefully while asleep under the anaesthetic. Kafrn, I love that you gave her her diggy blanket to rest in. : ) *Binky Free Stu-Bob-Bob-Bob* |

Oh my gosh, thank you so much for your comments, they really have helped me so much in the last few days, you are all wonderful and Stu-Bob and I are lucky to know such wonderful people. The candles are amazing they made me cry! I copied the comments on the candles and would like to use them on a memorial for Stu in the new rabbit house. Thank you so much for your uplifting support. :') emotionally this has been more challenging than I was prepared for. |

Oh, Kafrn, I am so upset to hear about Stu-Bob, and so late after it happened! I have not been online as much this past weekend (not at all yesterday) and I obviously didn't check the Bridge for new posts. I remember reading on Thursday on Facebook about your taking her to the vet and being hopeful, and that's my last knowledge, so I apologize deeply for not seeing this before now. Stu-Bob was very loved by all of us, and you were valiant in providing a most wonderful life for her. She will be greatly missed. {{{{{{{{{{{{Binky Free, Sweet Stu-Bob}}}}}}}}}}}}}} |
