Ok so I have a lionhead thats pretty fluffy.  She does not like to be held or touched.  You can touch her but it last about a second.  I noticed today she has a hard piece of food around the hair near her eye.  I held her today and tried to get it off but it is stuck and she jumped out of my arms.  Any suggestions on how to get it off.  My husband said she will get it off herself.  Can I put anything on it to soften it up.  Thanks   Mindy

I always put my bunnies on top of the washer when I groom them so they don’t squirm out of my arms.

She is by herself? If one of mine has something stuck, the other one usually gets it off for them before I get a chance too. She might be able to get it off on her own. Have you tried what Mocha suggested? Placing her on a high up, unfamiliar surface?

I hate to pick her up because I dont want to stress her.  People say not to pick her up and then people say you are surpose to pick them up so they get use to it.  So im confused.  Mindy

Don’t pick her up unless you have to. Meaning if you need to groom her, clip her nails, clean her cage, and you need to pick her up then do it, But don’t just pick her up just to hold her because they don’t enjoy it. Does that make since?

You can dampen a wash cloth with warm water to soften hard food and wipe it off. You can do this even when you bunny is on the ground. You might be able to use the cloth in such a way it feels like you are just petting her. Plus if you pet her with the other hand, that may help too.
