        Hi, everyone.

My giant conti, Loki, has developed a red(ish) patch on the back of his neck – he doesn’t have much fur there, so it was quickly spotted. We have kept an eye on it for the last couple days, whilst treating it with light salt-water, but the redness seems to have increased today. I am not overly concerned about this as a detriment on his health, as he is still as active, cheeky and hungry as ever. We just do not wish this to develop into something that will cause discomfort to our little guy.

I was just wondering if any of you have come across this before, and if this something that warrants a vet-run, or will that just incur a pointless charge?

Thanks, in advance, for any suggestions & Help.

It’s very difficult to say. It mite be a good idea to have the vet check it out or put a call into the vet.

Yeah I would either call or take him in to the vet. Really cannot diagnos over the internet as it could be many different things.

Hi, everyone. Thank you for the advice.
We took our ‘little guy’ to the vet, and while she wasn’t entirely sure as to what was the initial cause of the problem, she gave us some skin cream for relief and some, precautionary, anti-mite/paracite drops as well. We are taking him back for a check-up and his VHD vaccination, in a week. We were there for ages, as the vet loved him, was really sweet .

That’s great. I’m glad you found a vet and are happy with him. That’s very important.

Yeah, they were a maked improvement to the practice in out home town. The vets that we went to came recommended from the local pet shop, where I get our monsters toys . So, hopefully that will clear up any infection/paracites that he may, or may not have. Better to be safe than sorry .
