Hi. we just got stella neutered (we thought he was a girl, but he started humping my cat, and marking his territory by spraying, so i figured “she” was a “he”!). i got him neutered friday morning. he hasn’t eaten much since then. nowhere near normal eating and drinking. and i found pink urine on his bed (so i guess he’s bleeding a tiny bit. that was only one time today.)

i’m worried… for those who’ve had males neutered… how long before he eats/drinks normally and have you ever seen a little pink urine?

my boys bounced back by the next morning. If he isn’t eating much, and has pink urine, call the vet.

I’d definitely call the vet. Otto didn’t start eating well until about 24 hours after the procedure, which the vet seemed to think was normal.

After her spay (according to her first owner) and dental work (when I had her) Hannah didn’t eat for three solid days. There was nothing really wrong with her – she just didn’t feel like eating, so I had to force feed her until she came around.

The pink urine, if not the normal shade of red it can sometimes be, sounds off and is definitely a good reason to have him checked out.
