So my bunnies decided to express their disappoval of romanticized colonialism by nibbling up a biography of Lawrence of Arabia. (social science and humanities nerd, what!)  And the revolt continued again when they pulled it off the shelf a second night and tried to eat it some more but I woke up and quashed the bunneh revolt but it’s pretty much a goner now.  I’m not too upset, I keep my expensive and well loved books off the bottom shelf for obvious reasons, it’s just a paperback that I bought for $1 at a used books store ten years ago.  My question now is, can I rip the cover off and give them the book?  Or should  I just pitch it?  I have no idea if book paper and ink is bunny safe or not.

I think it’s fine to give it to them to rip it to shreds.

Maybe you need an Ipad or Nook or something like that :~) it won’t be as much fun for the buns though.

Something like an iPad or Kindle would have yummy cords though! I’m sure they’d enjoy that.

Ahh, but the cord is just for charging and can easily be kept out of their way! I am buying a nook for this very reason lol I was trying to read the other day and I had a cockatiel perched on top of the book nibbling the top edges and the bunnies wanted a taste of the bottom edges… so I gave in and put the book away. :s

Bunnehs are fastideous and well mannered. Maybe they don’t like the way camels spit.

I know phone books are safe because they are printed with soy based ink. Paperbacks are a mystery. If they don’t get indigestion or start writing bad reviews, let them eat Lawrence.

Haha ok thanks all, I think I’ll pull the cover off and put it in front of the book shelf in hopes of deterring the nibbling of more books. I love the idea of a kindle or a nook if only for the sheer space saving, but there’s just something about books for me. And apparently for my two little book worms.
