I've been looking through the posts on here, haven't quite found one to match what Honey's been up to. She digs, but not in her bedding or hay or anything like that. She does it on the walls sometimes, but usually on my jeans or my tshirt - and when it's thin, that can hurt a bit >.<
I'm not sure why she does it, but she "digs", then nips and pulls at the cloth. Would there be a reason for it?
A bunny digging at you when you hold her could mean "put me down" or "I have to go potty". The little nips mean the same thing. Our boy bunny DJ is not much of a lap bunny; after about 5 minutes of pets he'll give you the diggy diggy treatment to indicate that he wants to go down.
That would make sense, except I'm not holding her when she does it. She comes up and starts sniffing at me, and then does the digging. I thought at first she wanted to get the sequins off my jeans, but she does it to both legs and they're only on one - the shirt as well. So I'm not sure.
I don't ever really hold her, less she crawls up onto my lap and looks at me, like "Ahem? Why aren't you paying attention to me?"
My girl bunny, Jackie will do that to the carpet, the wall, or a spare dish towel I've let her play with on the floor. I think it's some innate behavior some bunnies have because my boy bunny, Casper just likes to chew things. He doesn't do a lot of digging around and scooting towels on the ground. Jackie loves to do it! Maybe your bunny is looking for something to dig in or scoot around on the floor too?
My bunny Floppy will do that, but only on my left side. She can lay or sit by my right side and I can pet her and pet her, but for some reason when she is on my left side she will dig at me. ???? Not sure I can understand what the difference is or why she does it. Hope someone out there knows why.
Sprinkles does that .. It could be an attention seeking regime which bunnies perform.
She digs at my feet ... that hurts too.
