Olive has a habit of “bumping” my ankle when she’s out and about (always supervised, as she likes to “taste” my furniture).  Today, she gently nipped my ankle.  I don’t suppose it was aggressive (it didn’t hurt, draw blood, or anything like that) but when it happened again, I suppose the message was, ‘Move over, you big lunk, you’re in my way.”  She also likes to nibble on my clothing if she can get away with it.  In general she’s a very gentle rabbit.  Maybe that was to get back at me for trimming her toe nails yesterday, which she’s not fond of (and frankly, neither am I!)

How old is she? Otto nibbled a lot as a baby – generally babies like to taste everything around them.

And it sounds like she did want you to get your big feet (big to a rabbit, anyway) out of her way 😉

Stickers does that to say “MOVE!” or “PET ME!” or “GET AWAY FROM MY LITTERBOX!” … hmm, come to think of it, she’s a very demanding little girl. I always nudge her head away from me when she does it and say her name in that “now you know better” tone when she does that. It’s kinda cute though being pushed around by a 4lb furball.

Leopold just bites. I have the scars to prove it too.

Momo does that either when she is feeling playful, or wants you out of her way. She sometimes explores new people that way too. Last night she was having a blast with an old sleeping bag on our love seat. Digging, scooting, and chewing on it. I reallllly wish I had my camera for that. It was hysterical. Then my room mate came home and sat on her sleeping bag, so she started climbing on him and yanking at his clothes. LOL!

Eddie always nipped my ankles to get me to move. He sometimes did it for attention too. But mainly cause God forbid he veer off his path and go around me….or through as I tried to give him enough to room to hop through but he still nipped. He was a little stinker. LOL

In the past, Olive has always “bumped” me with her nose to get me out of her way.  I suppose the ankle ‘grazing” (it was barely a nip) was just a more forceful reminder.

It’s kind of like bunnies talk with their teeth. They know how not to break the skin.
