Clumsy me, dropped the dishsoap on the little monster running around my feet. I’ve tried to sponge bathe her, but it’s just caking it on. I don’t want her to lick it off, but it’s all on her back, so it would have to be a bath. What do I do??

rinse it off with warm water, and dry her off as much as you can. Make sure she isn’t in any drafts or cold rooms until she is completely dry, 24 hours or so.

I agree- ingesting the soap is worse than any possible stress from a bath.  So rinse all the soap out with warm water!

She can be completely rinsed from the neck down. Just leave her head and ears dry. If any soap got on her there too, I would take a damp wash cloth and wipe it off her, rinse the cloth to remove the soap, and continue to wipe until it’s gone. Towel dry.

Thanks guys. She survived, but man was she crabby about it. I don’t think she showed me her face all night. Anyone else’s bun loaf in a completely snotty “look at how much I don’t care about you you scumbag” way? Mine does.

                …At least she smells nice?

I was going to say if it’s Dawn that’s perfect, that’s what they clean wildlife with in oilspills so it’s definitely fine
