This morning I noticed Oreo had some cecal residue on her bed. When I let her out of her condo, she passed a few cecals that ended up mushy on the carpet and on my bed I gave her a little butt bath because there was some stuck to her fur. Now she is back in her condo and has passed more cecals in her litter box, which I cleaned so I could easily track what she is passing. Some of the cecals are formed and some of them are completely runny. She ate all of her dinner veggies last night, ate some of her breakfast pellets this morning (it’s normal for her to eat only some right away) and has eaten some hay. She was active last night and when I let her out this morning, and she is active right now in her condo so she isn’t acting lethargic.

I emailed our regular vet to let her know what is going on. I’m not sure what to think of the situation so I’d really appreciate your input on what you think this is

ETA: There has been no change in her diet, no new veggies and she hasn’t had a sugary treat in several days

What her hay intake been like? Any changes there?

I almost hate to suggest it but…possibly her teeth again? : (

Jerseygirl, her teeth were the first thing I thought of too. Her hay intake is normal so far.

I took away the rest of her breakfast pellets and am offering her veggies instead, which she is eating. She hasn’t had any cecals or fecals since my last post. I have some critial care and cisapride in the house which I am considering giving her. Thoughts on this?

I think as long as she is eating, I would not do the critical care or the cisapride, but I would consider if the runny cecals continue, a quick trip to the vet to check those teeth.

I am planning to take her to the vet tomorrow. She is still eating but still having runny cecals, though less than this morning, and very few poops. Hopefully it is just her teeth.

Seems like these things always happen on weekends when the vet is closed
