        First, I am totally kidding!! I would never get rid of my buns, no matter how crazy they make me. I would love to pick everyone’s brain here … see if I can pinpoint what the issue is. Quick review. I got Toby before Tillie was spayed. They bonded (not what I was planning, just how it worked out) around the end of July (again before Tillie was spayed). When they first bonded Tillie was peeing everywhere, which I know is normal with new bond and because she was not fixed. She was also leaving poop everywhere. Her litter habits were exceptional before the bond.

        It has almost been one month post spay. Toby came to me already neutered. However, they are still peeing all over their condo. It seems that they keep it in there, even though they are free range. Then of course we took Smudge in and the peeing and pooping then started by the gate where Smudge is kept. Again, I know it is because Smudge is a) a new bun on the block and b) not neutered yet. I thought it was Tillie peeing, but have found out it is Toby.

        So, I am wondering if the peeing all over the condo is a result of the fairly new bond or because we have Smudge or both? How soon after a new bond does the territorial stuff stop? Whatever it is I am praying so very hard it stops soon. It is becoming a complete chore everyday cleaning up pee and poop

          Probably both, to be honest.

            Ditto-may be both. Regardless you can help to discourage by cleaning asap and using vinegar; to remove the ‘mark’ and then put that poop into the litter box; it’s two parts cleaning, one part putting the poopies back in the box and one part limiting useable area that equals litter training Give that a try and let us know how it goes

              Kokaneeandkahlua~

              I have been pretty dilgent about cleaning up and putting poop in litter box. I thought it was getting better, but the last few days have been bad again. I will just keep at it and hope it stops very soon. Thanks.

                On a side note, I am frequently offering Momo up for “adoption” on facebook. I will post something like “Free rabbit, complete with brattyness. Who wants her?” LOL!

                  haha, well you can’t deny – brattyness does keep things interesting.

                  @luvmybunny
                  ; Is Toby only peeing at the door where Smudge is or in their area also? Both he and Tillie marking up their area?
                  They get alot of free range time from memory don’t they?

                  I’m thinking maybe limit time out of their enclousure for a few weeks to see if that helps. It’s sort of Back to Basics litter training to do this. It could also be a delayed “cementing” period from when they bonded. If you’re unfamiliar, cementing is the term used when the rabbits become compatible enough to live together, you keep them in a small space to really strengthen the new bond but also helps them define their space. It could be that currently they view main living areas as theirs and their actual enclosure as the litterbox. Pretty sure that’s how Jersey sees it anyway. I did try enclosing them to correct this but I’m afraid the habit was ingrained by the time I did.

                    Both places. It seems Toby is marking more than Tillie (in their condo). And yes, they are always free range. I will try what you suggest. Toby gets pretty stressed when kept in his condo so not sure how well that will go

                      If you do try it, make it interesting for them I guess. Give them things to keep occupied. And they prob don’t have to be in there 24/7 – they could still have some time out of the condo during the retraining time.
