Powder is molting and every day I pull out the loose clumps, but they just come right back. How long do bunnies usually molt for? I feel so bad for him, it has be uncomfortable having 3-5 big spots of loose fur every day. He hates me picking at him, but they have to come out! lol

I’m not sure myself! BUT I’m having the same issue! Chacha has so much loose fur on her backside, and NOW the side of her body.. *shakes head*

Summer has been really tough this year. The shedding goes down in the winter, but all rabbits are different.

Thanks for reminding me, I need to pluck some of her fur when I get home from work tonight.

Henry just went through a big molt that lasted about 2 months. He lost every hair on his body, I think. Starting with his head and ending with his butt.

It could last 2-6 weeks I’ve heard. Remmy had two weeks of heavy molting, and now he is slowing down a bit with it (this is the third week) so hopefully he will be done soon!

                    Ok, thanks guys

I just vacuumed yesterday, but Powder broke Stickers out again so they had a bit of poop wars on my carpet (gr) until I could get her back in her area so I did it again. HALF the container was full of Powder fur, sheesh. I brush him off on the floor so a lot of it ends up going on the carpet, but I swear he’s losing more fur than should be on his llittle 6lb frame. I could make a cruelty free fur coat at this rate. He’s been at it a few weeks, so hopefully it will end soon, I keep getting death glares since he knows I am going to pull out the clumps.

Mocha and Lulu are shedding pretty bad right now and I can’t find the HAIR BUSTER! AHHHH!!! I had to use a different brush which didn’t get even half the fur the hair buster gets of :/

Chessie is a cotton ball dispenser .

I don’t know of any time when she is NOT shedding LOL!
I like to crawl on all fours and sneak up behind her to pull loose fur … first she thinks it’s a game, until I get a good clump. Then she’ll spin around and nose bonk me … she’s probably telling me “I see you Mom!”

                          Hehe Chessie sounds cute

My computer has been running hotter than normal – I am a gamer so I have a 6 core and my GPU is OC’d … so I pay attention to even a few degrees increase/decrease since it runs pretty steady. Well, I opened up my PC to clean it out thinking it had some dust on it. Nope. FUR was in all the fans. lol

For Momo it last about two weeks start to finish. I got her in January at 3 months, she shed at about 6 months in age, and then again at 9 months. I am not sure if she had a shed before I got her. She still seemed to have quite a bit of her baby fluff then. Her new coat at 6 months didn’t seem as fluffy to me. She does not do a full blow out or lose patches. Instead I will notice like a “line” in her fur that starts at her back and progresses down her sides, and a lot of white fur around the edges of her pen.
