Olive just had her spay surgery last Tuesday and is hopping about in her Xpen; incision looks just fine.  I know she needs time to heal, but she is eating and drinking, passing stool and urine properly.  When is a good time to let her “free range” so she can get some exercise?

It should be okay to let her out for a bit. Let her burn off some energy. As long as she isn’t jumping like a madbun on everything

I let Tillie free range the day after her surgery, but she just laid low. I think they know what they can and can’t do. She did hop around like she was sore

The day after is to soon, they incision hasn’t had time to heal. But almost a week after should be fine.

Tomorrow it will be a week, and that should be fine. You don’t want them jumping, which is the stress to the incision. I’d say tomorrow set her loose on the world.

Thanks, everyone!  She seems to be doing just fine so I let her out today and she’s enjoying her freedom.  She’s such a cutie!  I love having her out and about again (until she starts chewing on something she shouldn’t).  Usually, though, she’s quite good about not chewing.  She mostly likes to lounge and do Bunny 500’s/Binky 500’s.
