I came home today to find that Fudge had moved hay from her hay box to her cuddle cup.  Her cuddle cup is on the other side of her pen and up on a shelf.  I’m afraid she is starting a false pregnancy.  I really hate for her to have to go through that!  She can’t get spayed for another month.  She’s never done anything like that before.  What do you think?

My female moves her hay around to please her sometimes and is spayed (the other day I found a huge pile of hay covering the air vent, argh), so could be nothing – but keep an eye out if she starts to try to collect other nest materials.

Did it continue or did she stop, or eat up the hay?
I’d get the appointment for the spay made if you haven’t already. She sounds like it could be time.

I agree with Stickerbunny, it could be nothing.

I sincerely hope it’s not a false pregnancy, they’re awful to watch. Rosy just went through one and she was tearing her fur out like crazy. She wouldn’t eat much and just had this gaunt exhausted look about her. If it is a false pregnancy there’s not a whole lot you can do but watch.

I guess it was just a fluke. She hasn’t done it anymore and has eaten the hay she carried to her cuddle cup. Crazy girl!

Aw! Maybe it was just a minor hormone surge or something? Glad she’s okay!
