Rest in Peace my beautiful persian Meg  She had to be put down at the vets last night, due to be 17 years old and having severe liver disease. She was in so much pain, but still purred when i held her for the last time and told her i loved her.

I'm only 17, and as she was a rescue cat i'd had her for 10 years of my life, and the house will never be right without her again. An amazing companion, she will never ever be forgotten.

Rest in peace my happy little cat, you are so sadly missed xxxxxxxxxx

Thankyou, she was put down last night, and my 8 year old rabbit had a dental operation today, so it has been a very stressful few days! So glad Biscuit came out of his op okay, or i don't know what i would have done!

Saying goodbye to Meggy is honestly one of the hardest things i've had to do, but she'll live on through memory! Thankyou for your kind words.

I had to put down my 21 year old tabby several years ago. I had her since I was 3 or 4 (I'm 29 now). It's hard to lose any pet but especially one that has been part of your life for so long.

That must have been awful, i definitely agree that they become completely a part of the family after a few years, things seem so empty without them when they are gone! The question i have to ask myself, is would i rather not have this sadness, or never to have known her at all, and i know what my answer would be!

Goodness! Look at that face! I can understand this was difficult since you had her so long and from a young age. I guess we all have to come to terms with the fact our animals life expectancy is shorter then ours so at some point we have to say goodbye. Your family gave her a peaceful/painless way to go. As you say though, she is alive in memory and will stay in your heart.
