My housemate went away for about a week and came back with a 2 month old kitten.  Remmy (8 month rabbit) usually sticks to my bedroom and at night the cat stays in my housemate’s bedroom, so it’s not difficult to keep them apart.  However, we are introducing the two to each other now so that we don’t have to worry as much about that.  Today they are having their second meeting on neutral ground (supervised of course).  They are curious about eachother, but also afraid.  The rabbit is bigger than the cat, so she’s afraid of him, and he’s afraid of her because, well, cat = predator.  I was wondering if anyone had any tips for at least helping them get used to eachother?  I am hoping they can be friends since they are both young, but so far Remmy just seems jealous that he’s not the center of attention anymore! (Remmy is neutered, cat is not spayed)

        ^The closest they got!

I have 5 cats and 1 rabbit. Four of my cats get along perfectly with Penelope (my rabbit) and the other cat just acts like she’s not there. What worked best for me was just tons of supervised together time and making sure that both the cats and Penelope have places where they can go where they can be away from each other. Being that all my cats are spayed and neutered, I’m not sure how your kitten being in tack will make a difference. But don’t get disheartened if you don’t see any improvement in their relationship, this is do-able! And the fact that they are both so young will definitely help, I had old cats and a young rabbit to deal with! Good luck with everything!

Thanks! It was encouraging to see them a little less afraid today.

I have 3 rabbits and 3 cats. When I brought Stormy home he was scared so I did short meetings with 1 cat at a time. Gradually make the meetings longer until they get used to each other. Pet them both and gently reassure them. If the kitten starts to play too rough make sure to say “No” and separate them. All of my cats get along with the rabbits. Stormy is actually the boss of the cats now. He chases them out of the room sometimes but I’ve never had any injuries to cats or bunnies. Olivia and my cat Andy actually play  chasing games where they take turns running after each other in the living room. She binkies and has a great time.

Thank you for your advice and encouragement!  Today (third meeting) they are much less afraid.  Remmy bravely offered Lilith a grooming, who bravely accepted!
