my bunny is 9 weeks now and Im getting ready to purchase him some more hay but Im un sure if I should purchase Timothy hay again or if I should get him alfalfa hay till he gets older. I have read that some rabbits who start on alfalfa dont like to make the switch to timothy and he likes his timothy hay. I just wanted to get some opinions about this.

I would give him both. Give him mainly the timothy hay and give him a small handful of the alfalfa daily as well.

I have personally never given any of my buns alfalfa hay. Not even when 2 of them were babies. Timothy hay is the best

I was told to give Tillie alfalfa pellets and timothy hay when I adopted her. She snubbed the pellets, so I bought alfalfa hay and she snubbed that too. She has only eating timothy pellets and hay and it growing and gaining just fine.

I wouldn’t mess with success. As long as he likes his timothy, I’d stick with that.

My bunny Wilbur is 10 weeks old and I give her mostly timothy hay, she does get Oxbow’s bunny basics for young rabbits which is an alfalfa pellet. Alfalfa can be good for growing rabbits, but I’m so afraid about giving her too much. I think it’s good to make sure your rabbit keeps liking the timothy hay, some alfalfa on the side might not hurt
