Gah! Waiting kills me. Especially when it’s bun related.

 So far I’ve sent 2 emails to fosterers of flemmies, and the waiting is just killing me. I sent one like 2 weeks ago and never got a response, and I sent one yesterday for another rabbit. I’m so terrified that this person won’t respond to me either! Or that it will end up in my spam mail, like I suspect the other one might have but I get like 2k spam mails a day because I’ve had my email address for 12 years.

But I mean… look at this beautiful girl. Don’t you just want to take her home? She’s the girl I emailed about yesterday, and HJ kind of has his heart set on her. But she is 3 1/2 hours away. And requires a home check. But I proposed a solution to that problem (asking a local rabbit education org to do it) in the email.

Hi Lis

Have you contacted the shelters/rescue affliated with these 2 also? You could email/ring/basically badger the organisation along with the foster carers.
Sometimes petfinder is not up to date both with taking down animals that have been adopted but also putting up new one available. Hang in there!

There was a Flemish giant rabbit I alerted a friend of mine to (she’s wanted one forever) but he was gone within a day. Popular breed!

She responded, telling me the fact that I’m out of state is okay, and that she’s gonna call my vet, and then call me after she gets off work! She said she’s just looking for the best home possible, and since VBSPCA ranked us as a “5” (best choice possible) when we adopted Navi, I’m pretty confident we can fit that bill.

Also, Navi has been more stressed than normal since we lost Link. I’ve taken to putting a couple drops of organic lavendar oil in her water, and it has seemed to help her chill out a little more.

“Thank you for your application for White Flemish. Someone will be in contact with you shortly.” is the email I just received!
She just called me and talked to me, and she picked up right away that I was a bunny person. And as soon as I said “We send pictures of Navi to the shelter she came from about every 3 months” (she’d mentioned she asks that she gets updates every year), she said “Oh, your other rabbit is a rescue too? That’s fantastic! Then I know you’ll be a good home for her.”

She told me to attach a photo of Navi to the app so that she can make sure she looks okay health wise – looking for too long nails and mats and other visible signs of neglect. So, of course, I had to pick Navi’s cutest pic.
And she told me she’ll get back to me tomorrow and probably receive the adoption app sometime late tonight through the rescue.

Awesome! I’m happy for you guys, I wish it was under better circumstances and you didn’t have to lose Link, but you will be a great home for the new bunny.
