It might sound like a dumb questions, but where should I put my rabbit at night when I’m sleeping? I have a pen that I attached to his cage so I can leave his cage door open and he can go in and out but still be contained.  Can I leave him in the pen, or should I put him back in the cage?  He was not a happy camper when I put him in the cage tonight!

If the pen is secure and safe, you can keep the cage door open so he can go in and out all night. Bunnies are very active in the early morning, so he would probably like having the extra space to play.

Should be fine to leave him in his pen. Thats what I did when I had a cage/pen arrangement.

I use a cage + xpen set up and I never close the cage door. I do like keeping the cage because it’s good for containing hay and litter boxes, but they mostly hang out in the pen.

I have a litter box in the cage and in the pen as well, is that overkill?

If he uses both, then it isn’t overkill :p Wait and see if he picks one after having access to both 24/7 and then see if you can remove the other one
