Explain the rabbitude
Chacha wags her tail at me if I try to pet her. She also will come up to me, thump, and I will pet her, and she runs off What does she want from me?
She’ll ONLY let me pet her when she is under the dining room table.. which for me is awkward for my arms lol o_O
Also, she likes to butt nudge me a lot .. along with grunting and thumping at me. She enjoys running in and out of my room and back, and each time she comes in my room, she stomps
I got lucky one night. I fell asleep on the living room floor, and I woke up with her flopped out next to me..
What the heck did I do wrong?
You have a bedroom. Isn’t it obvious?
Now if you just lay down in the livingroom every night she wouldn’t thump and she’d sleep like a baby.
(You make a great pillow.)
It is no longer my bedroom.. I made a space for a litter box, hay eating area, and water dish.. xD
She has waken me up though! She enjoys pushing and shoving my blanket to wake me up! When I do wake up, she scatters off! XD
Hahaha! Does she do the Bunny 500 over you in bed too??
Lolli will give me the disapproving glare all the time. Sometimes she gives me the butt. And when we snuggle, she’ll give me “the look” while tooth purring. Go figure. LOL And let’s not forget the ears being down almost all the time. When I go in to visit her and she’s decided she’s done with me, she hops in her box. Then will move from the openings so I can’t see her and she can’t see me.
Well, Tillie is ‘strung out’ so she has a 24 hour attitude! The latest thing is when it is feeding time (greens) I will make this ‘click, click, click’ noise when entering the room. Her and Toby come running. It use to be she would just run to me. Now she runs and literally attacks my foot. She is a demanding little diva now! Of course then there is the treat issue. I never saw a bunny dive bomb or nose dive into a box of raisins quite like Tillie! It is a given I will get a foot flick and then a loud thump upon entering the room. She is sooo ‘strung out’ she has Toby fearing for his life!!
Then there is my sweet loving Toby. He is warming up quickly, but he loves to give a thumping reminder that I am not a bunneh! (no matter how awesome our nose wiggle contests go!). He, however, doesn’t protest as badly has Tillie when he is picked up and brushed. He really is a love bug 22 hours of the day
I answered the poll “Yes. All the time” for Olivia but my boys would be “Occasionally”.
Olivia is a honker and she will pummel you if you touch anything in her cage. She wiggles her tail at me and runs around like “haha you can’t catch me” when run-time is over. She will nudge really hard if you are ignoring her and she wants attention/pets on her OWN terms. She likes to have her nose and ears stroked and if you go out of bounds you will be punished.
Stormy is just a brat, mostly. He always begs for treats by chewing on the bars. If I’m in his way during his run-time he will nudge once and then bite “Get out of the way, lady. ” He bosses the cats around and stomps at Bindi. He HATES sleeves. If you wear sleeves when you are near him he will growl and bite them.
Bindi is mostly sweet heart but can be a real sassy brat when he wants to. If you are ignoring him, he will, very angrily, dig the crap out of the couch, your leg, whatever is nearby until you give him attention again. If I touch his feet or groom him in a sensitive area he bites my arm. When I’m getting breakfast ready he clangs the door and as soon as I unlatch it he shoves it really hard with his face to swing it open. He growls and tries to bite the dust pan when I clean his cage. If another bunny is out for run-time and he thinks it should be his turn he sits in his litterbox and throws everything out of it.
I was so torn as to how to answer! Most of the time Hodari is an angel, but I couldn’t say she “never” has an attitude. It really is rare, though. She once refused to have anything to do with me by repeatedly turning her back to me. She didn’t like it because I’d been gone most of the day, I guess. I’d fed her her salad early, given her very little play time, and fed her her dinner late. The next morning she seemed inclined to keep ignoring me, but at last she took pity on me and licked my nose. From then on we were best buddies again. She’s very good-natured when I reprimand her; she just runs off and finds something else to do that she isn’t allowed to do… Sometimes she flicks her feet at me, too, when she’s on her way to the litter box. I don’t know why. Maybe she thinks I am going to try to pet her when she has urgent business to attend to…
Sometimes…
Stickers will thump at me anytime I do anything she disapproves of. Powder will bite me if I try to keep him from getting to what he considers a GREAT litterbox spot (under my boyfriends chair, where there is no box, which is blocked off) lol I also get nipped sometimes by Stickers when I am messing with her litter box if I haven’t fed her first.
Otto shows some attitude – usually it involves foot flicking or giving me the bunny butt when I try to pet him. Little jerk. Once or twice he’s boxed at me when I tried to pet him in his litter box, though usually he just lets me pet him in there because he’s too busy eating hay to care about what I do (which is why I usually pet him in there). One time though he just got really mad and boxed at me! Sometimes when he can’t/doesn’t want to run away from pets (if he’s in the cage or maze) he will push my hand aside with his head as hard as he can. Sometimes he’ll even bare his little bunny insicors and put them on my finger as he pushes, but he doesn’t bite down. He gets his point across. The only time I can pet him is if he’s snuggling with Hannah – maybe he thinks she’s the one grooming him? Lol I have no idea.
Hannah never shows attitude. She’s often anxious and can be skittish if we’re making a lot of noise (especially in the kitchen, she hates kitchen noises) but she never shows us attitude. She’s pretty much always ready to be petted unless she’s too busy running around. I don’t think she’s ever thumped or foot flicked unless there was a really good reason (like nail trims). She does show some to Otto though when she nips him in the bum and herds him around.
Ok… Stickers has started something new today lol – I let her out to run around (she has two rooms to herself, but she likes to run around the living room) and she started chewing on something and I made a “eh” noise at her and she looked at me, thumped and did three laps around the room. Then she went to chew something else, same thing… such a silly rabbit! She still has horrible manners when she’s out and about the house, but she’s under a year, so that is expected
I just got out of the shower not so long ago. I had a pile of clean clothes on the carpet, and a fuzzy peep bunny doll on the floor. I discovered a single poop on top of the blue bunny doll.. terrific.
lol Chacha – Powder does that… if you leave stuff in HIS bathroom while showering, you get one little present right on top of whatever it is you left.
I think rabbits know when they are in TROUBLE
I do the “eh!” thing as well… I get the bunny butt or a sudden glare.. oh man oh man.
Good thing the princess is trying to sleep right now (grandpa is vacuuming, so I doubt that she is sleeping)!!!!
Hannah definitely knows when she’s in trouble! I can just say her name in that “mommy is not happy!” voice and she’ll immediately stop and look at me, then she’ll usually run away from whatever it was she was doing. After just a few times she even learns what I want her to stay away from! She’s a smart one.
I can scream in Otto’s face and he doesn’t do more than cock an ear in my direction (which is subtle, since he’s a lop). I must sound like the Charlie Brown teacher to him when I talk “wah wah wah”. Sometimes when he’s being bad I just go over and pet him because that usually makes him run away. Hahaha
lol both of mine know the word “no” – but Stickers only listens for as long as I am looking at her, if my back is turned she thinks it’s OK to go back to what she was doing, the stinker. Powder gets told “no” and leaves whatever alone permanently.
I guess Hodari isn’t too posessive because she only ever leaves a single poop in her own bed. When I take the poop and throw it away, a new one soon appears.
She always knows when I don’t want her to do something. The other night she was digging in a corner at the carpet, so I said “eh.” She immediately withdrew her paws like she’d touched a hot surface. When she got the urge to do it again she stopped herself and looked over at me. She avoided the area for two or three days afterward, and even now acts like she’s a little wary about going there.
I laughed so hard when you said Bindi will “dig the crap out of the couch.” I just pictured those mad little bunny paws going.
As for me, I selected the “perfect angel” although it is impossible for anybody to be an angel 100% of the time. Rosy is a little ball of love. She binkies when I come in the room and runs over to get kisses. She’ll let me pet her whenever. She prefers to sit on my lap when I’m in the room and I’ve got nooo problems with that . She’s also OK with me cleaning her cage and grooming her.
That being said, she has absolutely no litterbox habbits. There is no rhyme or reason for her peeing and pooping and anything is free game. So while she doesn’t have an attitude, her behavior leaves something to be desired. I think she knows she has to be sweet or I’d sell her to the gypsies
I picked “occasionally”. Arthur is pretty good. The only time he gives me attitude is when I can’t stand it any longer and I scoop him up and snuggle and kiss him. When I put him down I get foot flicks as he hops away but then if I lay down he’ll come right over and groom me (usually my entire face, including my eyes). He loves when you get down on his level. And if me and my boyfriend are on the couch he HAS to jump up and groom us both for a min or two and jump down. And when he binkies, the more you ooh and ahh or laugh, the more you get. He loves to be the center of attention and though he doesn’t demand it, when he does have it he wants more! And if my daughter comes out of her room and heads back in, he’ll follow her to the door and if she shuts it on him he paws the door or nibbles it.

TriBun – I analyzed your reply above carefully and concluded that you do not have a bunny. What you have is a teacup dog. Rosy needs to be taken on Walkies.
Buy Kibble.
Ahhhh ha ha ha RabbitPam, that must be what I’m doing wrong. I’m not walking her enough.
I’ve added pictures of my lap dog for your enjoyment
That is super cute! You’re lucky to have such a sweet, snuggly bun!
Aw, TriBun, I’m so jealous! That 1st pic of Rosy on your lap all snuggled up looking blissful is just priceless. If I try to put BunBun on my lap, his eyes bulge out and he struggles frantically like I’m gonna eat him or something. And Nelli- well, I’m lucky if I can even pet her. The closest I come to holding her is when I grab her around her midsection as she’s bolting around trying to avoid getting her nails clipped (not by me!).
The rabbitude is quite different in both of my bunnies. BunBun is really sweet, loves to groom us and will sit forever if you pat him. But he’s so naughty! He has ripped apart our couch, peeled our kitchen wallpaper, peed on our bed, my pillow and our white hallway rug, eaten duct tape, a rubber bracelet and various other terrifying things, chewed up all my books and lots of our antique furniture, jumped the barrier on the stairs and gotten himself stranded on the 2nd floor of our house, wedged himself under the hutch in the kitchen and had to be rescued, nibbled the edges off of all my throw rugs… I’m sure there’s plenty more that I’m forgetting. His latest projects that he started this past weekend are pulling up the carpet in the front hallway and shredding it and gnawing on the brand new woodwork around our bathroom door. And when I yell at him while he does these awful things, he completely ignores me. I run over to him, screaming like a maniac, and stomp my feet in front of him, only to be met with his calm, disgusted glare like,”What’s YOUR problem?” He has to be physically removed from his home renovations, and then he just goes right back to them the second I let him go. If I become too much of a nuisance, he bites me lightly on the hand.
Nelli is much less destructive, but also much less friendly. She is another one who loves to give butt nudges, but if I go to pat her, she runs off, offended. She gets really bent outta shape when I clean their litter box. She will either jump into the empty, freshly cleaned box and pee before I can add litter, or go to the space her box usually occupies and pee there. And she digs at the hardwood floor under the couch when I’m sleeping- usually at about 3-5 AM. When I yell,” Nelli!” She thumps right back at me, as if to reply. We repeat this- yell, thump, yell, thump, until I get up and chase her away from the couch. At least she listens to me though- she’s very responsive to her name, which is cool. BunBun ignores me unless I’m talking about food or singing his “Beautiful Bunny” song that I made up. I don’t know which is worse, the fact that I made up a song to sing to my bunny or the fact that I admit it freely.
She is so cute! Her coloring is amazing!
Squee! Lapdog!
