So my bunny is 2 years old and neutered. I have had him since he was a baby and he has been urine trained from day one. However, poop/pill training has been different and I have tried everything!! And it’s not a couple stray ones they are everywhere and I know it is him marking his area but still! So he gets free run of the whole 3 car garage for the majority of the day but my problem is cleaning it all up. I sweep and everything but is there a specific handheld vacuum or something because I got one and the poops just fell right out. Also for some reason he NEVER poops on the his second and third level of his cage but does everywhere else. Also do I need to limit his space to help him become better trained because he has been given a lot of freedom from the start. Any other useful tips on how to keep it all cleaner would be appreciated since my parents are getting frustrated. Or if you have any weird tips for litter training beside the usual. Thank You

well try putting up more then one litter box. and put them in the spots where he poops the most. And try taking and picking up a few pops and putting them in the litter box(s). it might help him get the idea!!!! i hope this help!!!!!!!!!!!!

Confining can help some bunnies get the hint but if he’s marking territory so much and is good with urine I wonder if there are any scents he dislikes in his area? Is it a frequented area by people he doesn’t know so well? Any other animals? Any scents at all you can think of he might be marking against?

For cleaning a shop vac would be good for a garage, you can get a cheap one from wal-mart or something and it’ll pick it all up for you. Also be sure to scrub the floor with vinegar if he’s picking certain areas.

For a large garage I would try 2-3 litter boxes in the areas he frequents the most.

I agree with Stickerbunny – confining them to an area until they can catch onto the litter habits.

I have a large cat box (minus the top) and I put wood stove pellets and a bunch of hay inside the box. Rabbits love doing their business and eating hay at the same time lol

I have a cheap shop vac from Walmart. It does the job quite well!

Limiting his space, more litter boxes, and possibly check into what smells he might not be liking. you say he is in the garage? There could be some oil, gas, other types of icky smelling stuff on the floor still, possibly remnants of other animals from the past as well. He may be protesting the smells.

I’m also having the same exact problem. I was going to post a new thread but wow another with the issue! Bunny pees in the litter no problem, however, he just poops where it lands. I keep picking $*&! up(lol pun) and putting in the litter box but it doesnt seem to help. I think he does poo in the box as well just not exclusivelyl.

Its a regular cat litter box, using yesterdays news unscented. His hay is attached to a rack on the side of the xpen that can only be reached by being inside the litter box, the food is located so that its easier to reach from litter but I see him sometimes eating from outside. The water is located a bit further because it was getting stuff in it I guess from when he hopped in and out stuff was flying up. Will he ever learn?

zpipes, has this been since you moved him into the xpen?

He might be marking out the new territory. I noticed in another thread you mentioned wanting to get him neutered but are having some reservations about it. His still being intact and being a “teen” bunny is probably why he’s being so messy also. It *should* get better in time.
