Recently, Fluffy’s nose seems to be always wet. I checked for other signs as this might have been snuffles, but he isn’t sneezing. What should I do with him? Help please

It may be nothing. If he drinks from a bowl, it may be wet from drinking.

If he doesn’t seem to be uncomfortable then I don’t think I’d worry. If he has a decrease in appetite then you may want to take him into the vet to have the vet check for an upper respiratory infection.

Both of my rabbits typically have damp noses, so it may be nothing. Like Sarita said I would look for a change in behavior and any discharge, especially colored discharge, from the nose.

Porkie gets a yellow discharge from his nose often, especially when he’s in a cold room. Is this something to worry about? He doesn’t sneeze or show signs of discomfort, it’s just there.

There is a decrease in his appetite since his partner (Fuzzy) died. Should I really be worried? Can I give him a first aid treatment?

If he stops eating for 12-24 hours, he needs to see a vet immediately. He should see a rabbit vet for a full check-up ANYWAYS. If Fluffy and Fuzzy were litter-mates or from the same store/breeder, there is a strong possibility that whatever happened to Fuzzy, may eventually happen to Fluffy. Young rabbits can have intestinal parasites that are lethal, and this is very commonly spread from mother to baby and between babies.
Please have Fluffy examined by a vet as soon as possible.

There are no home remedies for rabbits that we can recommend. We are not rabbit vets on Binkybunny.com, so you must refer to your own rabbit vet for diagnosis/confirmation on any health advice that is offered.

Hi, I agree with Beka that it could be important to rule out whatever happened to Fuzzy. I know you were upset at the loss, so if it’s something Fluffy caught and is in an earlier stage then a vet might be able to really help.

Rabbits love eating, no doubt about it. If his appetite is decreasing, it sounds like your bunny needs to be examined by a vet. I fully agree with what rabbitpam says – there might be something that the rabbit that passed had, and it might be harming the remaining bunny. Rabbits can go very quickly if not given the medical attention.

Thank you so much guys, I find this website really useful. I hope that it will stop raining tomorrow so I can take him to the vet. I’ll update you with the results. Thanks guys!

Is it safe to give him some vitamins? (The ones mixed with water)

Rabbits don’t need those vitamins, they get their vitamins from their veggies and pellets. Also those liquid vitamins change the taste of water and may cause him not to drink as much water as he should.
