My bunnies are both in 4×4  ex pens and I was wondering if anyone has ever done a make shift 2nd level? Something that does not take lots of power tools lol! Any tips would be appreciated!!! Thanks!

I think something like this, might be your best bet:

I’d be afraid if you attach something to the sides of the pen, it would be unstable.  This makes sense because they can go on top or inside and it seems stable and moveable.

Are the 4 x 4 dimensions you gave the width x length, or is the x pen 4 feet high? We use x pens in the health building at the sanctuary where I volunteer and sometimes when we have placed a box or house in the x pen, the rabbit would get on top of it, then would be able to jump out of the x pen, so you have to be careful unless you have one of the taller x pens.

2 dowls per pen and (2) 2×2 boards of plywood. Easy breezy! That’s what I’ve done.

Those Leith tunnels are really nice! I wonder how long they’d last tho with a chewer…

I have a wooden platform/hidey house that my husband built, but it did require sawing and power tools.

I made this out of NIC grids for my xpen.

Where could one find NIC grids?
I’d like to one day try to build a better habitat for my babies.

Good luck making a second level for your buns…
It might be able to work depending on the height.

Tate: will I have to have lowes cute the the plywood or do they have the 2×2 boards precut?

Mocha: where did you get you NIC cubes? I thought about doing that but was not sure if they would be long enough?? What did you tie it off with? It looks so neat!

You can get white, black and colored ones online at walmart for around $20 a pack.

                              2×2’s were precut.
