Poor Leopold! I was in the living room, the rabbits were out in their room. Leopold was being his distructive little self, ripping and chewing up a paper grocery bag. Suddenly I heard a really loud rukus going on in there, so I got up to investigate. I found Leopold curled up on his side with his head right next to the leg of a table and the paper bag was between the table legs (it’s a slim sofa table). He wasn’t moving and I realized that he was caught. I guess there was a paper handle on the bag, but I hadn’t thought much of it since they normally aren’t that strong. He had somehow gotten his head through the handle, panicked, and then wrapped himself around the table leg. I was scared that he couldn’t breathe, so I ran over to him quickly. His back leg started twitching as I approached. I tried to free him, but he panicked again and tried to get away. So I sandwiched him against the wall so I could get the handle off of his neck. He hopped away after that, I don’t think he was injured. It just scared me, it was a good thing I was just in the next room! I cut the handles off the bag, so that won’t be happening again. Poor baby!

He seems upset. I have checked on him periodically and he is either hiding in the tunnel or sitting in the cage. He jumps up when he sees me though.

Awe poor boy! He’s probably just a bit traumatized. Or embarrassed. lol Eddie used to do stuff like that and get all embarrassed and sulk about it. LOL Glad Leopold is ok! Whew! These bunnies….can’t think of another pet that will give us heart failure on a regular basis. haha

Do you think that’s it? He’s sulking? I was worried that he was traumatized. Thankfully he didn’t thrash about when I was trying to free him. I was so afraid he was going to hurt himself.

That exact same thing happened to my bunny Rucy. However, she went nuts and started running around the house which made it worse because the bag then kept bumping on the floor and the furniture making a noise which freaked her out even more. I thought if I didn’t stop her she’d die of being scared to death by a paper bag that grabbed her and chased her around the house. When I actually look back, I laugh about it because the whole scenario of the bag chasing Rucy, and me chasing the bag was a bit humorous…BUT SCARY THEN! I can’t remember if I caught her or the bag got torn off but it freaked us both out! And the paper bag had seen better days too. LOL.   We all needed to time to chill out — it took all night to calm down.

He seemed okay this morning. I’m thinking he’s already forgotten about it.

Well it probably did scare him. I just know Eddie would have things happen and he’d get embarrassed. Like when he’d miss a jump and I’d laugh. One time, he literally turned around and went under the bed the rest of the night….all because he miscalculated a jump and I laughed at him. I couldn’t get him to come back out for anything and would get severe disapproving looks. LOL

Eddie managed to fit through the handle of a plastic grocery bag that I accidently left on the floor. THAT scared him. I was laughing the whole time and took a picture cause he really was fine. He managed to get it around his mid-section and it wasn’t tight or anything. If it would’ve gotten caught on something, he would’ve just continued to hop the rest of the way through it. I don’t remember exactly, but I’m pretty sure I checked that before I took the picture. lol

I’m glad Leopold is back to his normal self today!

Yep, I opened the cage door to let them out. Wooly was just sitting there in front of the door and Leopold was nudging at him saying “get out of my way”. He has been out and about doing his normal things today.

Your story sounds funny, it almost sounds like my cat getting “stuck” in things.
