I have a 5 month old Mini Lop. I took her to the vet to get fixed. During the operation the vet staff called to tell me she does not have any Female or Male sex organs. She looks to have Female outside parts. They wont to recheck in a month. Any suggestions ???

Where did you get her from? Is it possible that she was already spayed and the vet just didn’t tattoo the stomach? Or possibly she isn’t as old as you think?

That very odd, but there isn’t a whole lot you can do. I know some rabbits can have both sex organs. What is the vet going to be checking for in a month?

Sounds like she’s already been fixed to me. I’m not sure what they would be rechecking. If they looked around inside, I would think they would have found something if it was there. Then again, the vet had a heck of a time finding Wooly’s undescended testicle. But I would still think the vet would have done a thorough search just in case the rabbit was a boy with undescended testicles.

I gother from our local FarmKing. She was 12 weeks old then. The vet called the breeders and they said they never fix the rabbits before FarmKing gets them.

I take her back on Monday to get the staples out from when they tried fixing her. He also is checking for boy parts.

Well, at 5 months your rabbit should be easy to sex. It’s possible that if it’s a he, he has encapsulated testicles.

Took Babs to the vet this morning to get staples out. We now know that she is a he. We have to go back in 2 weeks to get him fixed.

It’s not the first time something like that has happened to a member here, but I’m sorry you both had to go through a whole procedure to find out.
At least you know it’s a boy, and you’re doing the right thing getting him fixed. (again!)

going to change his name? Babs is cute for either really.  “They call me MR. Babs!”

Thank you !!! We have decided to keep his name as Babs. He already knows his name so we are going to leave it.
