So, he has his surgery at 6am, and here it is, 2:30am right now… and he’s poo-ing really squishy/wet balls.. they’re still in their formation.. but they are REALLY mushy. Usually when he goes on the floor we just pick them up with our fingers and then wash our hands, but this time it smooshed. He is staying at a friend’s house right now, his ears feel warm like usual,  he is eating and drinking water fine… he doesn’t seem to be sick… I’m hoping he’s not– what could it be? His diet is mustard greens, green pepper, parsley/cilantro, banana ( dessert), broccoli, pellets, hay and water… could those be causing it?

I think that bananas are pretty high in sugar so they can cause some problems if given in excess. Broccoli seems to give some buns gas (I know it sure does with mine).
Has this been going on for a while or is new tonight? How long has he been at your friend’s? Maybe he got ahold of something unusual or maybe he is just simply a little stressed from being somewhere new?
I would be sure to let the vet know before he goes in for surgery that the poo was a little unusual, maybe even bring in a small sample in a ziplock or a small jar so the vet can see it as well.

I cut about 1/4 inch wide, and 3 pieces of the banana every day for him, and he’s been living here since we got him because my landlord so we come over and take care of him. I’ll bring a sample in, hopefully everything will be okay. He’s had wet poop before, but it was when he got too much lettuce, or banana… and then a few hours later it returned to normal, we’re going to recheck it here in a bit

It is most likely a cecal dropping. Did it look like a small cluster of tiny grapes? This can happen if the diet is a bit too rich. Occasionally, it’s not something to worry about, but if it happens consistently, that is when the diet needs to be re-evaluated.

              Healing vibes for Bugsy!

So are you saying he just had surgery and he has mushy poo’s? If that is the case, that is perfectly normal after a surgery.

From what I gathered from the OP, I believe it was about 4 hours PRIOR to his surgery.

Sorry to be confusing– it was prior to his surgery, it wasn’t a cecal it was his regular fecal matter. I’m going to bring him in and have them evaluate him, I would hate for him to be sick and then something happen to him. I’m really nervous right now as it is and I really don’t want to take him in… I feel like my kid is going in for surgery haha… poor baby isn’t going to feel so good after :/

You haven’t fasted him or anything have you? Sorry if that seems off topic, just checking. Rabbits shouldn’t have food withheld prior to surgery.

Nope. Actually, when I made his neuter appointment, I was waiting for the pre-op instructions and if they were going to say not to feed him before surgery or the day before, I wasn’t going to bring him there anymore.. But she actually said, ‘ as for pre-op feeding, continue to feed him up until the point that you bring him in, Rabbit’s should not go with out food” so I was really happy They seem pretty smart and on top of their stuff. His poop is solid now, it could have been that he had to much leafy greens yesterday.

Oh that’s good then. Sounds like he’ll be in good hands.

It could well have been the greens. Some buns are sensitive to some greens. It won’t hurt to still mention it when you take him.
