So “Emily” still her temporary name is doing great she is now coming up to me and running around in her x-pen all night long! I am wanting to let her run around my studio but I think it’s too soon and she would be overwhelmed! But I am not sure, we are not having any potty issues and she is eating well should I add on to her x-pen or should I begin to let her roam a bit? Can an x-pen ever be too big I built mine out of dic cubes could go get more today! Also should I get carpet for under it I have a rug and a table cloth because she loves to tip her water so it’s easy clean up! Any advice would be great!

She will need to have a surface that is not slippery, like carpet or a rug, so that she can have some traction and cushion under her paws. As long as she isn’t eating it, a rug is fine. A lot of buns like to dig, especially when they reach puberty so don’t put a rug you really really like under her.
In my opinion, they can never have too much space! They like to run and jump and explore, so the more the better. If your studio is bunny-proofed (cords are up or protected, things they could choke on are up off the floor, dangerous plants or chemicals are out of her reach) then I doubt it will overwhelm her. Dont force her to explore the area, but you could open the pen and let her roam around if she wants to. This may open up the chance for her to mark her territory so be ready to find little poops all over the place.
          Congrats on the new bun!

In my opinion, you can’t really give them too much space if their litter habits are good. Otto was in a 4’x8′ space for over a year until we got Hannah (now they share the same space). I would let her out to run around and see what she does. If she gets into too much stuff you can always lock her up again.
