My new bunny isn’t eating the treats I’ve been trying to give to her, I’ve tried Vitakraft Wildberry Yogurt Drops for Rabbits and then Kaytee Blueberry & Strawberry Yogurt Dipped Timothy Hay. She isn’t interested in them at all.

I’m thinking she just doesn’t like yogurt treats, so I’m thinking of trying Vitakraft Rabbit Wildberry sticks (it’s like seeds and stuff on a stick with a thin flavor coating).

What’s your bunnies favorite treat and what do you recommend? Thanks!

          Sunny’s favorite treats are fruits:
          banana, apple(granny smith), grapes

he also likes papaya fruit plus tablets and Wild Harvest carrot Crunchies (I got from walmart)
He sometimes likes diced papaya from Drs. Foster and Smith, and I give him a mini wicker ball almost every night to eat.

I am pretty sure that the yogurt stuff is awful for your bun so its a good thing she isnt eating them.

Use veggies as treats! Try giving her some cilantro or parsley or a leaf of bock choy, kale or collard greens. She should be getting these anyways as part of her daily diet but this way she will get a healthy snack!

You have to be careful about giving her treats. Sugary fruits can upset the delicate balance in their tummies and cause an infection among other problems that are potentially fatal! So just remember, one or two little bits of fruit are ok, dont over-do it.

With that said, my baby LOVES dried banana chips, apple chips and raisins. She also enjoys small slices of carrots and frozen strawberry slices or bits of frozen peaches. I view those as her “popsicles” they are a nice treat on a hot day!

Check out the BinkyBunny store, they have some sticks that Huckleberry went nuts over.

I’ve tried some fruits and veggies too, she won’t touch the thin slice of apple and I also tried 2 leaves of baby spinach. She only seems interested in her normal everyday pellets.

And thanks, I’ll be tossing the yogurt treats then.

Treats with yogurt and seeds are NOT good for your bunnies. Please do not give them as treats.

Raisins, craisins, banana, apple.. those are popular here

Is she getting any hay? That is the most important thing!

That is a good chart to look at for some basic food ideas. Those pictures are a little misleading though. Carrots are high in sugar, watermelons have seeds, so be careful with those.

Glad that you will be tossing the yogurt. I hope your bun finds some treats she likes!!! I strongly recommend cilantro. I have a bit of a picky veggie eater and she cant get enough of that stuff!!! It will make your hands smell funny though because it is really strong.

Raisins, craisins, hay cubes, banana, strawberry tops, carrots (limited to about a baby carrot a day)…

No yogurt (rabbits cannot process dairy).

No seeds, honey, corn, cereal (too high in sugars and carbs, seeds can cause gut impaction).

The daily diet should include a small amount of timothy-based pellets, unlimited timothy hay, and 2 cups of dark green leafy veggies.
