I really want to spice up thumpers room but I don’t know how! Right now in her room (wood floors) she has her four story condo, crinkle tunnel, toys, blankets, and cardboard tunnels. She has chewed all the baseboards in the room, and made a huge whole in the wall. She is also constantly chewing (and spitting out) the plastic gate at the door to room. For instance, right now she is digging away at the wood floors in the corner of the room!

Is this fun for her? I feel like she’s lonely and bored since I’m at school and not home 7+ hours everyday I am planning on getting her a friend, but I have realized I will need to redo her condo into two cages (I will need more wood and wire cubes and everything) so I need more money Which means waiting until June for my job! Is there anything I can do to entertain her more?

Edit: I don’t have a TON of room but maybe just enough for a small love seat, which I’m also considering getting.

What about a diggy box? Shredded newspaper in a cardboard box?

Check out the Habitats and Toys section for some great ideas on toys you can make. I’m thinking she might like the mini maze haven or tunnel, or if you don’t want to buy those, I have taken a peeled wicker laundry basket (got it at JoAnn Fabric store) with the 2 handle openings, turned it upside down, cut one handle a bit larger, and she LOVES to go under it. She chewed her own window out of the side to look out!

There’s a fun toy you can make with cardboard egg cartons stuffed with pellets or hay. Lots of ideas in that section.

Another idea for a diggy box (you can never have too many diggy boxes) is hay. I got a huge storage container. Its for under bed storage. I put some stove pellets (they also use it as a litter pan) and put a ton of hay on top. Minnie spends a couple hours every day digging in that thing.
She also likes newspaper on the floor. She will dig in it and chew it up. Books are a favorite of both buns. They also like different tunnels. Home deopt sells tunnels. You can also make a box tunnel. You can make a box house. There are lots of toys in the toy test section that you can try. My bunnies love the jellyfish and egg carton toys.

Forget to mention, she had maze haven and tore it to pieces in 6 months -.-

I like the wicker basket idea, I’m sure it wouldn’t last too long though! I remember seeing the laundry basket diggy box on here, I’m going to try that. Thanks both of you for the ideas
I’ve read the toy test section so many times, how did I forget about it!

BB if you see this, new ideas should be added to the toy test section, I’m sure people have lots!!

Take some toys out! Seriously-rather then giving them the moon…give them some stuff, then take it away and give them something else. They are neophiles like most pets. They love novelty. So take away the crinkle tunnel then put it back in a different spot next week! In fact, also rearranging the same things can really get them hopping (pardon the pun lol)
