        Hey Guys!

I called my vet and have set up an appointment to have Zelda checked over. She’s still making that odd squeak noise, so I just wanna have her checked over. I’m buying a pet carrier today for her also.

Has anyone any tips on how to make the journey as comfortable as possible? I’ve heard I should put a blanket over her carrier so she can’t see what’s happening? Will that help? Now my vet’s is a 15min bus journey away, which is handy enough.

Also, what kind of questions should I be asking when i get there? Thanks a million guys!

I just took Miles to the vet for the first time today and I put his carrier in the front seat, strapped in with the seatbelt, door facing me. He had a couple towels and some hay in there. He mostly sprawled out or sat near the door the whole ride. I talked to him to let him know I was there so he’d know it was okay (hopefully!). I feel like it was a stress-free trip, aside from the vet part

I’ve no problems getting her there. I used take my cat to the vet on the bus it shouldn’t be a hassle.
                Thanks for the vet questions!

I wouldn’t bother covering the carrier with a towel. She should be fine without it :0 i usually put a towel and some hay in with my buns, and sometimes their teddy bear too

When Gabby went to the vet’s office last Wednesday to get spayed I actually tricked her into the cat carrier. She has never been in one that I know of and I opened the door to it and put it in her room. I walked away like I could care less if she noticed it. I walked back a few minutes later and she was inside it sniffing around and I quickly closed it behind her. The second she heard me closing the door she turned around and knew mama had tricked her. She was miffed to say the least. The whole drive there she had her butt to me and would not acknowledge my existance. I know she will not fall for that twice so next time should be fun.

Back from the vet. Turns out she does have an eye infection so I’m glad I noticed it when I did. She was given some baydril anti-biotics and eye drops. They’re gonna be fun. Her little squeaks were apparently hiccups. And she’s to go back on friday to ensure she’s alright.
She had a full checkup, she is a she. She’s also about two months old.
She did not enoy being at the vets at all though!

Yay, you can keep her name! It’s not too surprising that she has an eye infection…these communicable infections do tend to happen at pet stores or breeders’ places since there are so many bunnies and often in bad hygiene. The Baytril many vets give is flavored with something sweet, so my bunnies have always looooved it, and it’s been no problem at all. I totally forgot about hiccups for the squeaks…they’re so strange aren’t they? Glad to hear Zelda is (mostly) in good shape!

Good thing you went when you did! I think Miles got Baytril too… He LOVES it. I show him the syringe and he just starts licking it like crazy! Hope Zelda tolerates the eyedrops!

Good I’m glad to hear bunny will be okay. Most of the baytrils are yummy, but I’ve had one that was gross tasting (rabbit thought so). Anyways, Chacha and I are sending vibes : )

Ugh, I am not looking forward to giving the eyedrops at all.

She’s mega pissed with me for today. I took her out of her cage just there and she ran off thumping her back legs and sits with her back to me

Uh oh, sounds like you need to have treats at the ready for afterwards :/

Haha, Princess Zelda is giving her mom some sass! Hopefully these vet visits will be few and far between in the future, with a healthy bunny .

Emmie — great job observing and I have to give props to peppypoo too for noticing a little redness in the picture of your original post about this.
So glad Zelda will be getting the care she needs. She’s very lucky to have you.

Oh yes! I got footflicks after giving medicine to Chacha, even though she loved the stuff. Yes yes, and have a treat handy.. she’ll forgive you.. until the next day

                                      Keep us updated.

Awww thanks guys! Yeah, she’s being a little brat now because she knows when it’s eyedrop time and she just constantly runs away from me! Hey eyes look great now though!
