Are banana peels ok to give to rabbits? because my freind came over who has rabbits and said ” you should give them a banana peel, they will love it.” i didn’t really want her to give it to them but i let her give a tiney peice to each. I have seen some banana peels in peoples pictures here on BB, but I am still not sure.

If it is a non-organic banana I wouldn’t, as banana are frequently sprayed with pesticides that can linger in the skin while they are growing.

Ok, thats what I thought. I feel so bad I let her give it to them now I should learn to say no.

I occasionally give my bun a very small piece of banana–it’s like bunny candy (which is why they shouldn’t eat it very often). But… even though I only purchase organic bananas, I just compost the peels. I guess I don’t see the point of giving them a banana peel, if I can give them a small bite of actual fruit instead.

lol, just a share…I give my guys banana for a treat occasionally because they LOVE it and literally go bit crazy for it. Hehe. There has been a couple of times that Comet got so eager, he ate a bite of the peel in his hurry to get a bite. lol Not great and I would never just give it to him but it also didn’t seem to bother him!

Well whenever I give my boys bananas they seem to prefer the peels over the actual fruit. But my boys are weirdos.

I don’t give it to them on purpose, but if I’m having a banana I’ll hold it down for Hannah so she can take a bite and she sometimes goes for the peel. She also gets fur on the banana, so then I regret my decision and swear I’ll break off a piece to give her. I do worry about the pesticides which is why I don’t give her the peel on purpose, but if she sneaks a bite I don’t worry.

Otto thinks bananas are poison. Can’t win ’em all. Haha
