Just checking. I’m a little paranoid, being a new bunny owner.

I was lying on the floor with Zelda and I noticed one of her eyes seems to have the tiniest bit of sleep in it. It also appears to be a teeny bit red when you look up real close.

Does she look okay to you guys? I’m bringing her in for a check in about two weeks when I get paid, but if it’s urgent, I’ll take her on Sunday.

It looks fine to me. If she’s not squinting or messing with it and it doesn’t seem sensitive to light it’s probably okay.

Okay that’s great to hear, thanks! I think I’m being over careful with everything right now!

Mine get a little sleep in their eyes now and then, as long as it isn’t bothering her, and her eyes aren’t all wet and runny, it should be fine

My bunny gets sleepies too.. I pet her and brush my finger against it so it goes away

It does seem slightly red – that would be more of a problem than gunky eyes. I have to clean the sleep out of my bunnies’ eyes too…then I scold them for not cleaning better. “Aren’t you a bunny?? You’re supposed to clean yourself better than that!”

Emmie — Great Avatar. Little pieces of sleep are normal. I don’t see the red as much but maybe I’m gettin’ old or someithing—, but peppypoo’s observation is good to note and so if your bunny’s eye is a bit red then by all means, that is important to check.

Thanks, guys. What I’ll do is keep an eye (lol) on her and just make sure it doesn’t get worse. She’s going to the vet for a check next week when I get paid, so I will ask then.

Just wondering, are there a list of questions I should ask my vet when I bring her? (Or him, still can’t tell!) Well, that’ll be one of them alright!
