Since Gracie tends to pee on herself sometimes, shaving her is the best thing for her (her bum, not her whole body hehe!)  So far the vet has only done this but we bought a cheaper dog trimmer ($30).  We tried shaving her yesterday but the trimmer hardly got ahold of her fur.  I know there’s some people with rabbits that have longer have that have needed trimmed.  I didn’t know if they just used scissors or shaved them.  I don’t know if we’re just not doing it right or what.  So far I’m going to make an appt. on Monday to take her in for ear cleaning and shaving and Sandy to get her nails trimmed.  Didn’t know if anyone had any thoughts so I don’t have to take her in all the time she needs trimmed up down there?

I would take your clippers in to show the vet and ask them. There are different blades that clip different lengths- and the only one we ever really used at the vet clinic was the #40 that shaves down to the skin for surgical prep- but we used that blade for shaving mats, etc- as we did not do professional grooming only sanitary shaving.

Yeah I was going to take them to the vet. They shaved her pretty much to the skin except leaving just a little bit of fur. I’m guessing they probably use special ones too but when she did it she showed me how and said I could do it myself. Guess if I spent $100’s of dollars on specialty trimmers I could o_O
            Thanks!
