And if you watch the Oscar at all, you will know that’s a reference to Sally Field’s award speech.  lol  And yes, I’m a dork but you all knew that already!  haha

Oh my goodness!  Since moving to my dad’s, I have snuggled with Lolli every day.  While her behavior is all still the same, she must be missing me cause she snuggles for a good 30-45 minutes for EACH snuggle session.  Complete with tooth purring.  Lolli NEVER snuggled like this before.  I was lucky if she’d stay with me for 10 minutes.  Maybe I’m just getting her at her sleepy time or something.  And she’ll probably change back to not wanting much touching, but it’s so sweet and special right now.

My dad is so funny.  I was gone until about 9:30 last night.  Lolli’s lettuce time is 7pm and she is sitting there, waiting, right on the dot.  lol  Last night she apparently started chewing on her box cause when I got home with more lettuce, I gave her some and then went to talk to my dad.  First thing “your rabbit’s been moving around in there or something. Making noise.”  I was like “yeah, she does that.  Must’ve been chewing on her box.”   He didn’t sound too happy about it but me and her moving in has been a big adjustment for him.  I got told the other day that I was being demanding.  All I requested was more hay for Lolli and chocolate since I’m used to eating a bit of chocolate every night.  And I’m completely polite about it too.  It’s not like I’m *demanding* it be done right then.   But he’s having issues.  lol

Awww, glad to see Lolli is enjoying her snuggles. I love it when I snuggle up to Peppy (without even petting her that much) and she tooth purrs! Makes me feel like she is comfortable and loves me, haha. Who knows, but it’s a nice thought!

I am going to make a prediction here: based on past experience with “indifferent men” ie. Dads, pet sitter’s husbands and other members stories, I am betting that in one month you’ll see your Dad paying more attention to Lolli. Then sneaking her treats. Then, if you’re still there by the holidays, (or even if not) she may get a little bunny gift from him.

These guys melt like snowmen over time. Just be patient and buy your own chocolate.

lol RP, you’re totally right! Growing up, my dad was completely indifferent to animals and never showed any affinity for them. In the years that I had a hamster, he called it “that mouse” and never referred to her by name. But after we got Tammo, my dad really warmed up to him and sometimes I would see my dad carrying Tammo around the house and petting him or giving him treats!  Well, he did still call Tammo “that rabbit”…but more in the context of “where’d that rabbit go…I have treats I want to give him.”  Those types of guys just don’t stand a chance against cute bunny powers

I’m sure my dad will melt over time. It’s just funny how he’s learning the nuances of bunny care and his reactions to it all. Last night he took her litterbox out and dumped it. But of course, as soon as he was ready to go get it, Lolli was using the box. lol “The rabbit’s in there. What now?” “uhhh…we wait until she’s done, dad” LOL

My dad hates cats but he eventually melted for my cat Amber. He is now thinking about getting a small house dog cause Amber passed away last fall and he misses her. He will never admit it but he does. lol

RP – I can’t buy my own chocolate or hay right now cause I have no money. I will be attempting to go back to work next week and if I can handle it, I’ll have my own money to buy my own stuff. Which I keep reminding my dad. He’s just being grumpy cause he has only had to deal with his own stuff for years and now has to buy food for me, etc. But it won’t be for long.
