Porky makes so much poop.  I’ve had other bunnies and I don’t recall them pooping this much, but that was a long time ago.   I used to clean Nibbles’ hutch weekly, and i swear there was only slightly more poop than I get out of Porky’s condo doing daily cleanings.  I think the bag of poop I’ve been saving to barter for organic veggies from the farmer now weighs more than Porky does, and I’ve only been collecting it for a couple of weeks.  (It isn’t even all of the poop from the past couple of weeks, I keep the poop that’s mixed in with hay seperate.)

Is the difference diet?  20 years ago, alfalfa was the hay of choice for bunnies of all ages, veggies were to be mostly avoided except as very occassional treats in small quanitities, and pellets were generic (not specificallly for rabbits.)

Do all bunnies make around a half a cup of poop or more a day?  I suppose I really should actually measure it, and not just estimate.

The poop itself looks fine.  Firm dry round balls about the size of a plump cranberry.

           Mine do!  No doubt!

A good healthy digestive system is always one the move.    Is Porky more active than Nibbles was?  Does he seem to eat more too?

Veggies also supply a good amount of hydration which also aids digestion.

Somewhere I actually  have it written down how many poos that a bunny, on average, put out daily. (I’ll see if I can find that fact).     Did I just admit that out loud?  What’s wrong with me?

EDITED TO ADD:   Okay, I just found it.  I had stored this little gem of a fact on my computer.  The answer comes from my very rabbit-savvy vet when I asked her what was the norm.  This was her answer  “It will vary with diet and size of poop. We are very happy with 60-120 poops in a day.”

So there ya have it, and with 120 poops a day….that will fill up a cup!

Now, multiply that by 3 and you’ll see what I get every day

I notice too, that during the change of seasons from winter to spring, Mimzy tends to eat way much more and so produces more cocoa puffs.
Now…if only he could poop gold ingots, I’d be a bajillionaire! ^_^
