My rabbit Chino is 3 years old. I just noticed today he has a very watery eye, the liquid coming out is clear and there is no puss but it is clumping up all the fur under his eye and down his cheek. I saw today he did a runny poop too, i’m not sure if these are linked but i thought i’d mention it just incase. He has been eating and drinking fine.
Chino is very timid and shy. doesn’t like/trust new people and he HATES being picked up. If there is anything i can do to avoid the vet that would be great because getting him to the vet would be a nightmare and i’m so scared it will distress him.
If he does have to go to the vet, does anyone have advice on how to get him there and keep him happy & calm??

        Thank you!!!!

I think his symptoms are worrisome enough that he should be taken to the vet. There’s no way that we can diagnose him or help you treat him via internet.

Do you have a carrier for him that you can put him in to take him to the vet? You need a carrier with a towel in the bottom. You can try to lure him into the carrier with a treat, and then closing the door behind him quickly. If he’s too shy to go in for a treat, you’re going to have to put him in the carrier physically.

Well a runny eye could be due to a dental problem. And also runny poops could be due to a dental problem as well. My best advice is to have a vet check him out especially his teeth.

No rabbit likes going to the vet, but it is going to be necessary at times. You could try Rescue Remedy to help keep him calm.

That doesn’t sound good at all.

You need to get him to the vet asap.

No pet likes seeing the vet, but this is for his own good. My rabbit doesn’t tolerate handling either but it needs to be done sometimes. Rabbits can go very fast if the proper medical care isn’t given.

              Keep us updated.
