Dutch loves his new condo! It’s a mansion compared to his pet store cage. It’s 3x2x3tall and made with the Room Essentials grids from Target. Unfortunately they’re the ones that come with two different size holes. It seems like he can fit his head through the larger holes so I’ll have to keep and eye on that. I may need to find grids with smaller holes to replace the larger ones.

He seems to be adjusting really well. He’s pooping in his litterbox already! And he’s already ventured to the second level (not third yet). I’ve even seen some binkies!!

Here’s some pictures. Gonna be cutting the support dowel to size soon.

It is a mansion compared to a commercial pet store cage! Love it! I think he won’t need any bigger a habitat if he gets daily run time.

On the bigger grids, I put some hardware cloth around the outside. I got it at tractor supply, it is much like chicken wire, but small rectangle shaped holes. He can’t stick his head through now, so we were able to remove it.

That’s a good idea Meow. I had to do something similar with a rat cage once. I might end up having to do that. It would be a lot cheaper and a lot less work than actually replacing all of the grids.

I’m going to build a NIC condo for my new bunnies this weekend… What did you use for the base of the condo? what’s the white material on the bottom?

Thanks! I’m so excited to be a mommy to the bunnies!
