I'm so so sorry... I was very sad to see his name here today. I know nothing I can say will make you feel any better but I just want to say anyways that he couldn't have been more loved and I'm sure he was very happy during his time here. I know how hard it is to accept but it was time for him to get his angel wings. **Big Hugs to you** We will all be here for you when you are ready to talk about it.

He was such a special little bunny and I will miss seeing pics of him.

 Thank you all...

Pacey is having a very difficult time with this and I can't get him to leave their usual snuggle spot so I am just letting him be.

I have tried to type this multiple times but it is difficult to get through it.

Walter has been his naughty and crazy self but today he looked and was acting different. He didn't want his food or water so I tried a treat and he took it but was chewing really slow. He kind of looked funny like one side of his face was swollen but sunken in at the same time.

He wouldn't leave his litterbox at all he made a clear spot and would just lay there. He wouldn't hop or move he just laid there with his nose on the floor and drooling severely . So I called my vet and was told to bring him in immediately (keep in mind this all happened withing 10-20 mintues so I didn't let him just lay there and suffer). I got dressed and was getting ready to put him in his carrier. He looked confused and couldn't work his body. I picked him up and put him in his carrier. We were almost out of the door when he made this low squeak sound so I looked in on him and he was clearly struggling.

I sat down and took him out because I knew he wasn't going to make it to the car. I held my little man in my arms he started rolling and gasping then just stopped... He was gone...

I am completely devastated he was fine last night binkying everywhere chasing the dogs and chowing down on his bedtime treats and hay.

I took him in for necropsy but couldn't seem to let go I just stood there holding him sobbing until the vet took him. She suspects it was a stroke even at 9 months old based on his symptoms.

I'm so sorry, that's so sad. Way too young, poor baby! I haven't been looking on this site a lot lately and was confused when I saw your bunny's name in this thread.
Sometimes these things happen and there's nothing you could have done. At least he had a great life even though it was way too short. What terrible news. Best wishes to your other bunny and you so you can all heal.

I'm very sorry. HEALING VIBES to you and Pacey. Let Pacey and you comfort each other. You will one day be united again with Walter and all will be bliss again. Until then, he is watching over you from where he plays happily with the other bunnies who have passed, two, mine - Lash and Buddie. Prayers and hugs.

Thank you guys for the well wishes for me and Pacey.

The vet has came to the conclusion that he did indeed have a major stroke that he was unable to come back from.

I just don't understand how these things happen. The contradiction of how strong bunnies can be in some ways, and how fragile they are in others continues to leave me bewildered.
Like Lin, I also had a cat pass in my arms who had suffered a massive stroke. He was a fighter and did all he could to stay, but he was an older boy and had already been ill for awhile. It was so sad, but at the same time I took comfort in the knowledge that mine was the last face he saw, my arms were the last ones that held him and he knew I loved him because I held him close enough for him to hear my heart breaking. And of course, now he is at peace with his dearest friend kitty in Paradise.

I am still in tears for you today, dear one. I am so sorry this has happened. I'm keeping you and Pacey in my prayers. God bless you and give you His peace.

I'm so sorry- it's just so hard to deal with things like this, when you have no time to prepare. It's probably easier for our pets when they die suddenly, because they never had to suffer from any long illness, but it leaves us simply shocked and devastated. You gave Walter a great life and I'm sure he felt loved every minute, especially at the end when he needed your comfort and you were there. It's so painful to watch a pet die- I've been through it too- but it's best for them that we are there with them as they cross the Rainbow Bridge. The good thing is that you have Pacey to care for- as hard as it is, having another pet to love can help pull us through times like this. I will be thinking of you both.
Hugs and prayers,
Dee

My heart is very heavy for you and Pacey. How sad to lose a friend so suddenly, especially one so young. At least he died in your arms. I truly hope that is how all my bunnies go...with the person who loved them more than anything. He will take his memories of you to the bridge and if it helps any, I know with all my heart that you will be together again. Take care of yourself and Pacey. Hugs

Grief can take care if itself, but to get the full value of a joy you must have somebunny to divide it with
