They are fosters. Buns are 2 months old and have just been separated from their momma. At first I thought it was the momma not eating her cecotropes, but now that she is in a different pen I see it’s the babies. Anything I can do? Or should I be concerned? They eat plenty of timothy hay and pellets. I haven’t given them anything else.  Thanks.

Could it be they are eating what they need and just over producing them? It might take some time for them to adjust after weaning and they would have been eating some of the mothers prior to being separated.
          Are the pellets alfalfa based?

This can be normal in baby bunnies – I saw uneaten cecotropes from my boy for a week or two after I got him and I’ve heard of it happening in other baby bunnies as their tummies adjust.

I would keep an eye on them and stick to a pellet and hay diet, but I wouldn’t worry too much. If it continues, they should go to the vet (they should go to the vet anyway though) and have a fecal test.

I had to switch to timothy pellets because one of the babys had an “anal irritation”.

They should be fine eating timmy pellets. Monkey had them, as she detested alfalfa. Weirdo.

                       Guess I hit a glitch there…
