I can't seem to figure it out. Have tried 6 ways to Sunday. I made 3 albums, tried uploading, albums say 0 photos in all three. Can't upload to wall, can't change the avatar photo, can't do nuffin! Poop! My bunnies disapprove! Thump! Help!

 

My pix are JPEGs taken with a 7 megapixel camera and the file sizes are 1+ to 2+ even 3 MB - how do people get photos only KBs anymore? Compression? If so, how?

Some features are not active in the forum, not sure if the 'Wall' is one of them but I will find out.
I tried adding photos to my album to see what is going on. I can upload them but the 'save' function is missing some details: it does not place the photos into any of my albums. I will contact admin about it.

Lol. Firstly, Welcome! Second, calm down calm down.

I use a program in Windows called Picture Manager. I open pics in there to resize. You can also open them in MS Paint, hit control W and resize. pics. If you don't have programs on your PC then load them to a photo hosting site like Photobucket to edit.

After creating the albums in your profile are you seeing the file name and blue upload bar i.e. showing upload 100%? If you've done this step there is another after where you designate file to specific albums. Thumbnail image of your pic comes up with a caption box and underneath that a box that reads "Select Album" Be sure to do that step otherwise the pics just go nowhere and it shows as zero photos.

Avatar is actually where you load your profile picture. One and the same. I know there is a place that says Avatar under "My forum settings" but that is not working. If you go into your profile and click on "edit profile", load a pic where it says "Your Profile Picture:"and be sure to click Save at the bottom. If you don't see the change straight away, click F5 (Refresh) and it should then show. Fingers crossed.

OK, I saw the blue upload bars and all seemed well. But I don't see the next step happening. After the upload I clicked on the yellow button, can't remember what it said, but thought it was the next thing to do . . . and then I ended up with the zero photos. Didn't see any thumbnails. Do you think this is a compression issue, then?

No, not a compression issue. Right now, there seems to be a glitch in the albums I have notified admin. When you upload photos it does not give you the saving option into your albums so the photo just disappears. It ony gives a yellow save button but normally it also gives you another button to select your album.

Weird. It's working fine for me. (Windows XP)

I just tested it out and it uploaded okay with my album too.

Can you guys try it again. Maybe it was just a server issue that has been fixed. If it still does upload, tell me the size of the photo and type of browser you were using.

It is working now. It comes up with all the saving options.

I used a compression size under 300 KB and it worked fine, I tried massive sizes over 3 MB and they can't be saved.

Just an aside: I tried to change my avatar last week, several times, resizing it down and down on Paint but it still wouldn't take it. Until I noticed that the jpg I had opened had saved as a different type (png I think, something like that) that was an auto save format from the program. Once I Saved As back to a .jpg type, it loaded up right away. Took me ages to notice it.
