The stuff I got from the local petstore was like a sackful of compressed powdered alfalfa with a few intermittent twigs here and there.  Good alfalfa hay should consist of mostly stalks, right?  Petie is still a growing baby so I’d like to supply him with some and Dustor, not yet a year old,  enjoys it as a frequent  treat,   I’d just as soon order it online, if anyone has a recommendation of a good tried and true source.  Thanks

The BB store has some organic alfalfa hay – I’ve not used it but I bet it’s pretty good stuff.

            BB Hay is great

Have you tried kijijij or craigslist? Depending on where you live barns/farms often sell fantastic hay (alfalfa and timothy being the main types so it shouldn’t be hard to find) and you could buy one bale -which is a huge amount-generally for less then five dollars. It’s a bit of detective work but you can get great hay for cheap

The other thing you could do is just switch to timothy-as long as your bun has alfalfa pellets they can switch earlier to timothy or other grass hays

I ordered several different kinds – the blue combo, organic alfalfa and timothy gold APD from the BB store. Thanks, Sarita and Kk.
I agree that if good hay can be found from a local hayfeed supply store, that is the most economical way to go. I’m looking into the options.
              Thanks, again.
